I think its bugged, doesn’t look like kills from quantum projectiles (I also had missions where I killed well over a 100 mobs with earthling but only got something like 30 registered kills) or from Schneider’s drone are taken into account, also I have my suspicions that kills from Aneska’s mech are also bugged.

Seeing a Doldren with an empty cardslot and a forge 0 weapon be the MvP was a letdown. (the other 2 were probably worse)
MVP doesn’t appear to really mean anything atm anyways, seems to be mostly about kills, so you will rarely see characters like Harec or a Javeline Ginebra as MVP, even if they carried the team with objective completion and boss damage.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Ammo and Aleph Drops
 on: May 07, 2019, 11:02:23 PM
Agree, completely breaks the flow of combat, I hate it on both aleph and ammo, but as you say it’s especially bad with aleph, at the very least it would be great if they reverted back to the old system for aleph or like was suggested before by another user, make aleph drop only when the player is full/ has a 5 stack.

48
I also didnt like the idea of having to collect aleph and ammo, this will make the game less dynamic because we will have to waste more time collecting after finishing the enemy.

Yep, and this can already be experienced to a degree when playing Aneska, its very noticeable how going for the batteries breaks the flow of movement you would typically have with other raiders, but at the very least although annoying it’s a unique feature of hers and it only applied to batteries, she still gathered aleph and ammo with the same fluidity that everyone else did. So on one hand it looks like it’s going to break the flow of movement/combat and on the other hand it will also make aleph/ammo collection in general for the party extremely easy, too easy, not to mention boring since we will have ammo boxes littered throughout the level like any other shooter, breaking even the atmosphere since seeing floating ammo boxes isn’t exactly immersive and will make everything look “gamey”.

I'm sure the devs thought of most things and should be able to patch the things they forgot.

I’m not saying that can’t be the case, but it would be a 1st for me, in all my years of gaming I’ve never seen anything positive (when it comes to teamwork) come from an MVP feature, MVP always promotes selfish and inefficient behaviour and are many times inaccurate anyways, taking into account the wrong things. They are also taking it one step further with this loadout thing, I really hope this is something we can turn off/opt out off somewhere, can we at least have that MSE? Please? I couldn’t care less what loadout others are running nor do I want my loadout out on display.

What is going on with this upcoming update, I want to be exited for the new cosmetics, melee weapons, that stuff looks great but now the cons are starting to pile up, it’s hard enough getting ppl to work as a team and now we are going to have this childish MVP nonsense to stroke jimmy’s little e-peen.

Then we have the game going casual with ammo drops, aleph drops, are they going to keep removing cool features that made the game so much fun, unique? What’s next, are we going to get constant HP regen regardless of stress so it can work like every other 3rd person shooter?

Basically these 2 features (especially MVP) seem highly unnecessary and in the case of MVP potentially damaging to the game experience, if you want to reward a player that put in more effort do so with the games currencies but make it private, the fact even now we see other ppls rewards, if they got or failed a BP roll, how much gold/bp they were given, all this is already pointless and only serves to annoy older players because they are many times given less rewards even though they probably ended up carrying the match.

2 other things I want to get off my chest:
- if you don't believe that a game is good/fun or will ever be good/fun, don't play it, don't post on the forum.
- to all the mods, devs & so on, I hope you are aware that it might be a very vocal minority that complain about specific things. It still feels bad reading it over and over again and I'm glad you're on discord as well, where you can see & read that people are having lots of fun with your wonderful game, even without censorship.

I think many of us criticizing, do so especially because we think the game is so good, because it is so much fun (personally I believe it is THE best 3rd person shooter I’ve ever encountered), however on my part, all of that fun has been had exclusively when playing vs the AI, so ofc I’m going to continue to ask for a PVE mode so that when I queue into a match I am guaranteed fun, and don’t have to waste time on pvp matches.

The fact the discord is the way that it currently is makes it even more important the forums remain a neutral ground where both parties can express their likes and dislikes, if you only want to hear positive antag feedback, well… the discord seems to be the perfect place for that.

This issue will never go away as long as it’s not addressed, and saying it’s a minority is a stretch, there’s tons of complaints everywhere, steam reviews, steam forums, this forums, the discord (before it became an official antag heaven), youtube comments, etc, the difference is most ppl that complain about the antagonist system do so and then leave, which is ofc bad for the game…

I think it’s important to highlight that I don’t think most PVE players (that remain) think liking raiders PVP is wrong, nor do we want it gone, what we want is simply fairness and respect for the free time we invest in the game and that means optional PVE, simple as that. What I do personally think is wrong is when PVP players are content with having matches against new players or players that simply do not want to PVP at the time, that type of attitude is selfish, toxic and completely contrary to fair play.

Just today they had a well know Antag who is known for being toxic and trolling gloat that he drew out a survive at least 6 times lasting an hour for these poor Raiders. He would kill them and then let them survive, rinse repeat, only to kill them in the end when he was done toying with them. And you know what they did there? They all applauded him. They gloated with him, showered him with favor over this griefing.

This here is exactly what goes on, actual toxicity is rewarded in the discord, it’s sad and bad for the community. That they decided to pick and choose a bunch off legitimate topics on the game and ban them is so incredibly hypocritical, since toxic discussions are encouraged.

52
Yea its quite sad, though not surprising at all, the place is incredibly biased, all mods are known antags and I’ve yet to see a single antag, whether they are mods or not from the discord, admit they want a fair fight, in a true sense, THEY DON’T, that’s why they want to shut down discussion on the subject, they want it all to remain as is, they want to keep on fighting against new players and PVE players, they say they want to “improve”, “compete”, but is just a facade, all they want are moths to the flame. They say they love the game, yet they don’t mind annoying others, potentially to the point of leaving the game, which ofc doesn’t help at all, the community is already small, that is no secret, so opening up gameplay possibilities for PVE players to comfortably join and stay can only be good.

It’s quite funny that when a youtuber like “TheGamerTronShow” sheds some publicity on the game, one of the highest voted comments is someone warning others about forced PVP, many will understandably not even give the game a chance after knowing that.

Today I imagine antags were overjoyed since “A Fistful of Sand” was the rare BP mission when we just got shae’s new rare weapon, I can bet there wasn’t a single match played during the rotation that didn’t have an antag trying to mess up a mission that is grossly overturned in their favor.

Karen, MSE, you have a very special game going here, it is very unique, a new and overall top notch take on the 3rd person shooter genre, and I would be a shame for you guys to sell yourselves short, the reason it’s so special, so unique, involves the true core of the game (no, not antags) but the systems that have been set in its foundation, the momentum in the character’s movement and how it affects gameplay in such a massive way, which additionally allows for the removal of that pesky, boring, sprint button, the unique way of acquiring ammunition, the stress mechanic and how it ties to both stealth and health regen, the aleph system and how it changes the dynamics of combat not only through stacking, which gives elites and raiders new or improved abilities but also in how it enables important risk and reward manoeuvres because of the temporary invincibility it provides when acquired. Ofc we also have the uniqueness of all characters and weapons in both their visual design and actual gameplay, etc, point is this game is much MUCH more than its PVP and it’s a shame you guys don’t embrace that more.

As for "misery and trolling", whether you wanted it or not (though it is disingenuous that you guys deny it when you have boasted about it in interviews and promotional material…) it’s there and in force, it’s the biggest, most glaring issue the community has and sadly although players share in the blame, you, the devs are the main culprit, intended or not the system is designed for it (antags), as it is right know it’s going to attract the worst of the PVP community, the sad type of player not looking for a fair fight, the type that enjoys trolling, that enjoys wasting and ruining other ppls fun and rewards, the asstwats that giggle like a schoolgirl while spewing nonsense about collecting salt, and saying “separating both modes would result in higher waiting times, impacting negatively on the experience.” Is really troubling, basically the antag experience, their experience takes precedence over all others, which is discouraging.

Suggestions / Re: The state of Ignis and Harec
 on: April 12, 2019, 12:46:03 AM
It is conflicting, Harec is pretty meh in PVE and I really hate the nerfing of characters, especially when said nerfs are gonna affect PVE players for the sake of the PVP crowd, but you are absolutely right, and I agree with all your points from a PVP perspective (except when it comes to “Firmness” I have not used the card myself so I’d rather not personally condemn it, that said in theory from reading its description, others describing how it works, some antags I've seen use it, it does look like there is an issue to be had).

As you mention Ignis is only the tip of the issue, Harec needs a cool down on his ability even if he uses it for only a second. As for Ignis, damage and rate of fire are obviously OP for such a long ranged, scoped, hitscan weapon, even worst if it’s a mouse user… if it’s someone on a controller, well... he had to at least work for the shot.

In general, I believe MSE should handle damage numbers against raiders and mobs separately, it’s the only way to balance for PVP without destroying PVE, no one enjoys one-shots in a PVP environment, and in the case of raiders they are even worse because they are much cheaper since payers are not focusing all of their attention on the enemy player (as is the case in most PVP), and will often b occupied with mobs allowing for some truly cheap kills from antags, kills that account to nothing since there was no skill involved.

Ship's Log / Re: State of the Game Address #3: A new Roadmap!
 on: April 01, 2019, 06:02:33 PM
Spacelords identity, daily rewards and the forge sound like exactly the kinds of things the game needs, too bad the potential positivity from those additions will be overshadowed by the negativity “master of puppets” and “aurora specters” will bring to everyone but a  small handful of dedicated griefers… I mean antags… I bet these 2 features will be OP as hell for the 1st weeks before they are nerfed, but by then the damage will be done (again) and many new potential players will have been alienated (again) by said handful of antags…

Spacelords Universe / Re: How do you Prefer your Antag Matches?
 on: April 01, 2019, 06:00:04 PM
D. No antagonist.

Or does none of that matter cause it all has to do with Gold & Blueprints.

I would say I find it to be 40% gold, blueprints and faction points, the remaining 60% is enjoyment of the game, neither of which involve antags in any way…

Suggestions / Re: Antags. There must be a happy middle ground
 on: March 21, 2019, 08:42:57 AM
I feel your pain I’ve had days like that often but funnily enough yesterday I had the complete opposite experience, I had one of those rare session (around 5 hours) in which I only encountered 1 antag, suffice to say it was a blast, a very relaxing, rewarding and fun experience, makes me remember why I stick with the game in spite of the antag system and why it would be a shame to see the game shut down.

Many of your suggestions would alleviate the issue, but imo there can be no middle ground, much less a happy one, or maybe a better way of putting it is there SHOULDN’T be a middle ground, either go full on PVP or separate them.

58
how so?
You have a game that accommodates both PVE and PVP players, but strangely enough it places both types of players into the same pool and does PVE or PVP at random, this is going to piss off PVE players, that is a given and idk how the devs could not see this coming (or they just don’t care, and from watching their own dev diaries, that seems to be most likely the case, idk).

In an old article covering the games antag mode (https://www.dualshockers.com/raiders-broken-planet-developer-diary-details-antagonist-gameplay/) dualshockers very appropriately calls it “a troll's dream come true”, it’s basically like PK’ing players while they quest, fish or craft in an mmo, with no consequences. The devs themselves admit the griefing nature of the system on the 1st dev diary saying this about the antag mode, “Me deja jugar como si fuera un single-player” (it allows me to play it like a single-player), “Y con el extra de que estoy fastidiando a alguien, estoy haciéndole la puñeta a alguien de verdad” (with the added bonus of annoying an actual person, I am fucking over or “causing trouble” to a real person) https://youtu.be/RYao1t08PBc?t=275.

That said, all that would be fine, the concept would be fine if there were simply 2 queues, PVP and PVE or if the game required an antag to start the match since that would make things clear, the game wouldn’t be offering anything for the PVE crowd and that part of the playerbase would simply leave the game. Imo the best choice is ofc having 2 separate queues since, you keep a larger playerbase and PVE players may occasionally dip into PVP matches, when they actually feel like it, respect for the player, for the customer, that is what is lost in this system.

Here's a video demonstration of infinite health while being swarmed:
https://www.facebook.com/welter.wilson.7/videos/2123340744447437/

Well he is testing that in single player and I’m assuming at a low difficulty, those shotgunners were doing very little damage, I doubt it would look the same at any decent mmr, he would probably get downed while transforming out of cougar, I know it happened to me a couple times since I rolled for the card (regular version) and tested it out last night. I had loads of fun with it, I could still get downed as I said but that extra life gave a push to survivability that made catform not feel as underwhelming.

If it gave her invulnerability while changing maybe I would agree on it being broken, but as it is I hope MSE doesn’t change it, though we all know how much they like them nerfs… Now I really want to farm some 5th council FP to get the rare version.

Am I the only one who hates Ginebra being stressed 24/7 in cougar form? If she is gonna have 50 health she shouldn't be stressed. Sure she moves fast but as an antagonist, she can be chased down easily.

You’re not alone, makes no sense from either a gameplay or lore perspective, the 5th council somehow designed a hunter unit, so-called “Sabertooth” chassis, that can be seen through walls, a large cat that cannot stalk, its ridiculous.

Ginebra's cat form is still absurdly OP. Transforming into it, no matter what your health is, will set it to the max that your cat form has. She can dodge and transform to escape any CQC situation due to how fast it is, a smart Ginebra is extremely difficult to kill.

If Ginebra has 1 HP left and changes into cat (which is instant), she recovers to 50, or with certain card builds, up to 170 health. I feel like this was an oversight that should be addressed. But it really sounds like you have never fought against an enemy raider Ginebra just running around for 200 seconds on survive with no way to stop her, and it shows.

lol man Ginebra absurdly op? get real, she has been overnerfed, they took a huge part of her transformations usefulness, nerfed her weapons, not to mention she is the only 5th council that has to reload… her ability to transform in an instant is almost all she has left, in a game where a single crit from almost any weapon instantly downs any raider, if someone manages to react when they are down to 1hp they deserve to escape and get that measly hp back, u cannot lose sight of her now, in most cases a single additional bullet will drop her again, sooo… shoot? I mean unlike raiders, you guys get to see what you are facing, maybe bring a hitscan weapon if there’s a Ginebra. She is not a character you should expect to melee and come ahead same with HIVE and Rak (for very different reasons but the result is the same, an unsuccessful melee encounter), so plan around it, isn’t that one the antag mottos…
