Gameplay Feedback / Re: Complaints

I'm not understanding the pushback on criticism I'm seeing here. Is it really such an absurd concept to give feedback on a feedback forum?
Im not stupid. Take your sarcasm elsewhere

Aleph and ammo being drop hasnt been an issue for me tbh. If anything its helped spread aleph out evenly to all teammates so everyone is getting there aleph boosts going therefore increasing team performance.
They both drop like 0.5 seconds after a kill so its not like it takes forever like others have claimed. It doesnt slow the game down at all (at least for me).
Antagonist? Well I played about 20 matches today and only encountered 2. We lost to 1 because of the 1 stage where you have to keep the ball in the alter. We just got overwhelmed at the last altar (On top of Raks flame turret thing).
As far as the end of the month rewards, I really like the idea. Gives the incentive to play both sides to maximize rewards. Has it increased Antag activity? Sure. Is that a bad thing? No. Could they try to rework the balance in the game. Definitely.
Idk. I guess this update just isnt for most people. Or maybe I see this differently than others

Am I the only 1 having fun with this game? All im seeing here are complaints about everything. Ive seen nothing positive about this game in awhile. Threats of people leaving or unistalling if x,y and z dont get changed or reverted. Idk seems really stupid imo
Maybe its because im not playing this game everyday.
(And no this game isnt perfect by any means)

As a game developer you should never design any aspect of your game specifically with trolling and pissing people off in mind because as it turns out when you piss people off on purpose they stop playing your game and giving you money.

This here is important to highlight because it perfectly sums up what the current antagonist system as a whole is, and the type of player that it panders to, and I say currently because if there were separate pvp/pve then it wouldn’t be the case. But as it stands now, contrary to what most developers would do, MS is for some reason catering to toxic trolling and griefing, basically shaping their entire pvp around it.
how so?

Lastly is the weapon Shy. Did this gun recieve a nerf that I missed or has my time away from the game clouded my memory?
5 nerfs since it was put into the game, to be exact.

the Tier change was explained pretty well in patch notes. Lots of threads talking about all these same issues
Alright ill have to take a look at those

I want to come out and say that im no expert in this game by any means. So some of what I say might be a bit off.

First of is the damage noise. Not sure when this started but the noise when you take damage seems extremely loud for some reason. Like to the point where it throws me off. Idk if this is a bug or if it was intentional. Either way please fix this.

Second is the lvl/tier issue. This is a minor gripe but why was this changed? I (like many others im sure) liked seeing my level because ive worked hard to get to were I am (even if it not as high as some). I wouldnt mind the change if you gave us the option to choose which one we want to display.

Third is Aneska. I love the character and the concept but currently I wouldn't choose her over practically any other Raider due to her low damage output and restrictive skill. Her having to stand completely still to call her mech back is a recipe for disaster. Secondly the mechs heath pool is very VERY small and it to suffers from low damage. If an antag is coming at me I have to melee because her mech and weapons arent an option at this point. She needs a little rework.

Lastly is the weapon Shy. Did this gun recieve a nerf that I missed or has my time away from the game clouded my memory?

Gameplay Feedback / A Word To Rookies

When you see people spamming orders in the chat, listen to them. They arent telling you to come here for no reason. Usually its to progress a mission or to save you from getting swarmed. I understand that you all are new but that doesnt give you a reason to run off and waste lives. Just a heads up.

If you are significantly lower level than the Raiders this will affect a lot. They will have higher forged weapons, higher stats, better cards, etc...

If you aren't using certain characters that are good in PvP, or if they are using those characters instead/as well (Alicia with R&R, Doldren, Konstantin with Tolchock, etc...) this will affect the match as well.

Next the MMR. If you're MMR is significantly higher than their group MMR the allied AI will be weaker. If it's significantly lower, the AI will be much stronger.

Finally the mission. Certain missions are harder for antagonist and certain missions are a cake walk. Try queuing for Mind over Matter, White Noise, Fistful of Sand (and focus the old man if you are really mean), etc...
i can definitely see where the mission part comes in. Because some mission i play as a raider and im like (this antag has no chance)

What level are you?
What level were they?
What characters are you playing?
What characters are killing you the most?
What is your MMR?

This matters a LOT in PvP in this game.
oh ik. I just get put up against teams of lvl 200+ people. Basically people who know their stuff lol

Does anyone really enjoy playing as an antagonist? Becuase all ive experienced is quad teamming and getting seemingly one shotted by various different characters. Not appealing at all honestly.
(Lol Yes ik that the other team is suppose to stick together so dont bring that up). My point is that I feel very handicapped.
Thoughts?

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Lvl 1 Against Level 100 - 400 Antags

Scope it out.

In every game with PVP you will get matches you will lose and matches you will win. If your MMR is high then the game thinks you are very good at the game. If it is low then it thinks that you are not.

Here is the twist.

MMR, high or low, doesn't affect how well you can play the game. It doesn't affect your character's stats. Your MMR can be sky high but it doesn't mean you are skillful or leveled up enough to handle that content.

If your MMR is 20-30% and you are running into level 150+ antagonists then, yeah, that is unfair. But, that doesn't ever happen to me when I am at 20-30% MMR.

If you are at 40-50% MMR and you are running into level 150+ antagonists then, yeah, that is fair. You are telling the game you can handle the bottom 40-50% of players with a reliable chance of victory.

It takes very little effort to get up to 40% MMR and only slightly more effort to get to 50%. Because the MMR increases even when you complete non-PVP content. Even if you are dying left and right and get carried, it will increase if the team wins. This is the biggest problem. Because it takes people who have not acquired enough skill or experience into the higher difficulties.

Since people are egocentric they will tend to believe they got to that MMR fair and square and then are baffled when they are stomped into the ground by a high level antagonist. This happens a lot. The problem is that people fail to grasp the meaning of the MMR system. How it can be manipulated and what it means to have high and low percentages.

Also, I see this a lot and I have to say; level 400 is as meaningless as level 200. All it means is that they played the game a lot which, sure, could mean they are better players but they are still constrained by MMR which will not take into account their player level, at least not in any significant way. Your passive stats max out at level 150 and you get your last Forge level at 199. Someone being level 700000000000 doesn't make them any stronger than a level 199.

My point is no one in this thread has said what MMR and what player level they are so it is impossible to determine if it was unfair or not. But at MMRs above 40% you should be expecting a difficult time ahead, mentor match or not.
sorry but what does that have to do with level 1 players going up against them? Thats the main point of the thread which you seemed to miss.
This isnt CoD where you can just pick it up to point and shoot. This game has a learning curve that new players need to get good at before being put against veteran players. I (as a level 76) dont mind level 400 antags because I know the game. Rookies on the other hand dont. Thats the point

Acknowledged yes, but no official plans have been revealed to the community.

It's sad because all they need to do is make mentor matches never have an antag and they go from something players avoid to something players want. It's one of the easiest win-win scenarios ever.
my thoughts exactly. Now anytime i get a mentor mission i wonder who the antag will be.

A little birdie told me today that the most recent patch placed brand new files into the game regarding Alexa in the player section, with a faction code, when she was previously outside of the playable character data ;)

Shouldn't MSE canonize her a bit though ? Not disliking her presence , just the possibility of her continuity getting ruined somewhat .
im sure theyll find a way to make it work
