You just said what I said, so I don't really know what you're trying to say.

I'll break my statement down a little more.

Games are good or bad based on their game-play.

Stories are good or bad based on their storytelling.

Mercury-Steam does a good job of developing the characters and their traits.

Adding diversity into a story or game for the sake of diversity instead of adding it where it makes sense ruins a story. Adding pointless diversity instead of logical, effective diversity may make the people who didn't write the story or create the game happy, but doesn't do anything for the game or story objectively.  (Except for having diverse things in a place where it doesn't make sense.)

If Mercury Steam adds in a male character of Darker Skin Color, I would like to see them to add him in a logical and well thought out way that makes sense and feels the same as all of the other characters, instead of looking at him and being like, well, here's the Black Dude.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Doldren is still too powerful
 on: September 07, 2019, 03:32:29 PM
Doldren is by far the most annoying thing that exists in the game. Fuck Doldren a hundred times over. Partly a good reason why a player can never select a Raider that they have fun playing because in order to not lose to Doldren's Bullshit, Min-Maxing team compositions must occur. When players are forced to play meta or DIE DIE DIE LOSE LOSE LOSE, DIE, I can see why people would leave for games where they can have fun and enjoy playing the game.

Spacelords Universe / Re: Attaining a score of 325; Is it worth it?

Yeah, after getting the dailies and the mission score for the monthly pot, there isn't a reason to keep playing if you like getting mission rewards.

I feel sorry for the people that played to get high levels to be displayed by their names, only to have that coolness of someone seeing such a high level player and getting anxious about the upcoming match get replaced by grouping all high level players into a same category.

Like, seriously, that player that used to be level 300 or more used to look a lot cooler and scarier than the player that just has a group 1 symbol by their name. Which, could mean anything.

Raider Voice/Text chat with the option of muting other players would be a great plus for this game.

Suggestions / Re: Antag ammo refill.
 on: September 03, 2019, 10:45:36 AM
I came back after many months, and didn't realize Sudden Death was a thing. When it happened, I was like, Holy Shit, what is this. Well. Someone else died, and while I was still alive, the game claimed that I had lost. I was like, wait a fucking minute, I haven't died yet???

I don't mind the whole, 5 lives remaining thing, but they need to at least make it so that everyone has to die out, and not just one of the four raiders. (In other words, it annoyed the crap out of me that they once again take a very unique game mechanic, and downgrade it.)

Spacelords’ Advice / Re: Beginner advice - Don't steal aleph!
 on: September 03, 2019, 10:38:01 AM
Yeah, the old system of taking Aleph and ammo from the enemy was pretty unique and a great way of doing it.  This new drop system isn't the best, (or actually, I'd say it is a downgrade from the previous design.)

Well, Diversity doesn't make a game or a story better or worse. That being said, Spacelords does a nice job of presenting its characters and their personalities.

Spacelords Universe / Re: How do you Prefer your Antag Matches?
 on: March 24, 2019, 05:49:15 AM
C: Challenge.

As the antagonist. I strive to show no mercy, and try as hard as I can to win. If I die during the match, I'll try even harder in the next spawn to kill those Damned Filthy Raider Scum. This is the only play-style that I find to be fun and enjoyable within the game.

Spacelords’ Advice / Re: Antag; self imposed challenges, anyone?
 on: November 23, 2018, 09:48:50 AM
To Clarify my previous post:
-Only new players at (Level 1) would be able to get the (Optional free) immunity, not high level players. Once the new player immunity goes away, one could never regain that immunity again. 40-50 games would place a player around level 30 or so (I think), which is still pretty new in my opinion and a better point to start facing high level antagonists. After that point, it would be just like the system is now.

-The current restriction on being an antagonist is at level 10. I feel that this number is a good number.

-The opting out part referred to only level 1 players, (or those currently with the level 1 immunity) to allow the game to remove the immunity from them, allowing them to face antagonists. (Maybe allowing them to get 15% bonus experience until level 30 or so.) If one chose not to get the immunity, there would be no way to get immunity in the future. Then the game would continue like it is now. Maybe I just feel that level 30+ is a better time to start facing triple digit level antagonists rather than at levels 1-10.

-My highest difference match as a raider was being on a team of level 30's and lower and facing off against a level 300 or something antagonist. That was not a good time.

-My highest level difference as an antagonist was being level 103 or so, and I faced a team of raiders level 2,3,7, and 11. Got it over quickly, and moved on to better matches.

-On the flip side, when I was around level 40 or so, I faced a team of raiders who were all level 200's and got my Ass blown off of my body. (As well as the level's AI minions that were non-existent.)

-Also, Sounds like you had a pretty good match too.

To Placelord: (Realistically), I wouldn't mind it if certain high end raiders (such as Doldren, or Schneider) weren't allowed to be used against new player teams and had an MMR cap on what that match's difficulty would be.

The Second action phase of this initiative would be to give new players the option to have an Antagonist immunity period, and give them the option of opting out of that benefit. Its hard to give an exact number on the number of matches that period would be, but I came up with 40-50 antagonist free games. Players with antagonist immunity would be matched up with each other and they could learn the game in a more forgiving environment as opposed to being matched up against a possible antagonist player such as myself who hates not doing everything that I'm allowed to do in order to win.

To Tekato: (Less Seriously, but with an exaggerated evil grin on my face.) I look forward to it. I hope people see my in-game name (when I'm the antagonist that is) and say, hey look, its that Xinderoth, let us kick his Ass! It would make for great rounds, and embodies the spirit of this game greatly.
