Forum Rules and Posting Guidelines
on: December 13, 2017, 05:23:35 PM
Welcome to the Spacelords Hangout. We’re all here to discuss and contribute to Spacelords..

Here is a bit of common sense that will help make our community an entertaining and interesting place to be. We don’t like to ban people but we will if your common sense fails you. Community forums are at their best when participants treat their fellow posters with respect and courtesy. Therefore, we ask that you conduct yourself in a civilized manner when participating in these forums.

The guidelines and rules listed below explain what behaviour is expected of you and what behaviour you can expect from other community members. Forum moderators and admins shall have full discretion to address any behaviour that they feel is inappropriate.

MercurySteam reserves the right to suspend your access to these forums at any time for reasons that include, but are not necessarily limited to, your failure to abide by these guidelines. We reserve the right to evaluate each incident on a case by case basis.

  • RESPECT– Let’s respect one another and have fun together. Respecting people means not insulting anyone’s race, religion, sexual orientation, skill-level or anything else that make someone feel uncomfortable.
  • BULLYING - This goes hand-in-hand with respect. Our forums are a place of understanding and mutual respect. There is absolutely zero tolerance for bullying in our forums. Picking on or pointing out other’s flaws is anything but constructive. We as a community need to focus on embracing everyone equally.
  • DEVELOPER BASHING – We aren’t perfect; we’re humans making a game. We work hard and read the forums regularly, so any insults will be cleaned up on the spot and not tolerated. We are not your punching bag! However, Constructive feedback is positively encouraged and key to us improving the game. Please be respectful to each other and to the team, you are after all, now part of the same team!
  • POSTING – Use our forums to talk to us and talk to each other in an intelligent and respectful way (see Rule #1) that encourages interaction and thoughtful discussion. Stay on-topic, be constructive and use descriptive topic titles. Don’t RAGE/RANT POST, have misleading topic titles, post spam, advertisements, pornography or any other inappropriate, offensive or irrelevant content to the forums in text or image form. We will delete/edit it, and there will be consequences for those that do.
  • LEAKED/DATA-MINED CONTENT- Please do not promote or share leaks or data-mined information in the forums. If you are concerned about leaks please PM, the admin staff. Continued posting of leaks or rumours will result in a warning first and then an outright ban. We want to assure everyone is able to share in the excitement of new content when it is released publicly. Addressing speculation and rumours takes attention away from the crucial content, changes, and fixes that are prioritized to further improve the game.
  • TROLLING – Don’t live under the bridge – don’t be a troll. Persistent trolls will be banned.
  • PROFANITY – Keep it clean people! Unnecessary/excessive swearing, even if censored, will not be tolerated.
  • PRIVACY – Do not publicly post any form of real life information of yourself or another user in the forums. Real life information includes, name, phone number, address, email address, private/email message content, personal pictures, IP address and anything else that may identify you or a user to the community in some way.
  • COMPLAINTS – if you have a complaint about a user, report the issue; if you have a complaint about how your behaviour on the forums has been moderated, send the Admins/Mods a private message. We will do what we can to sort out any issues fairly.
  • BUMPING - it is not condoned, but all cases of bumping will be handled case by case determined by the nature of the thread.

Guidelines:
Due to the large volume of posts we receive every day, our mods have the right to delete and edit posts/threads that: have bad or misleading titles, do not facilitate discussion, are off topic and or contain any of the infractions listed above. The best way to ensure your posts survive and thrive is to ensure your posts are clear and productive. If your post is deleted or edited, please continue to participate in the community discussions, but make sure you have adhered to the forum post guidelines.

The bottom line is that we want the Spacelords hangout to be a fun and safe environment for all. While posting on these forums, you will encounter thousands of other players who share different experiences and come from vastly different backgrounds. While certain language and images may not be offensive to you, consider the fact that that same language and images may have a completely different effect on someone else. We’ve done everything we can to make this a great environment – now it’s up to you! Welcome aboard, Raider!
