Spacelords’ Advice / Re: Tips for A Breath of Hope as an Antag?
 on: September 13, 2019, 05:00:05 PM
I've played reasonably well with Hans. My gamestyle was to hide (no aleph signature) and burst out with Usu and flight where they put the aleph in, surprise them, and kill one immediatly and melee the second person.
Still, winning is hard.
Harec is good, you can stalk the ceiling and snipe them when they put aleph in.

there are bad guns, they improved some. Patient boy was improved, but it's still crappy, you are right.
I've never seen anyone use it.

Let's hope it gets the hatchet treatment.

Spacelords Universe / Re: Attaining a score of 325; Is it worth it?

I liked the Diablo2 ladders, where the first to reach top scores get remembered forever. So a list who was first in the last months and who is first this month, would be really cool.
You could even separate console players from PC-players.

while you are right, that this seems to be a good tactic, I've learned the hard way that mobs can destroy the spheres.
I played exactly as you described on double agent, and the spheres "vanished". On discord they explained that the spheres can be shot.

Depending on the situation a more offensive/active playstyle might be superior.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Schneider nerf feedback.(nerfs in general)
 on: August 27, 2019, 07:17:19 PM
I disagree with the comment, that Schneider was "unplayed". Not only did I play him myself quite frequently, I've expected one in my team for every boss-map.

I think this nerf is an interesting mechanic to nerf, but it might need some more finetuning. The drone should draw more aggro and have more hp in my opinion, that would even it out in my opinion.

I like that he gets even more damage, since some other weapons are starting to do more damage than him.

It's a same they fixed the killerball bug, now the weapon seems too weak.

@Tekato, fair point, which game did you develop? so I can compare and understand your point of view better.

Edit: I forgot to mention, the discord/forum divide is as big as it has ever been, nothing new here :)

Gameplay Feedback / Feedback after 1-2 months off
 on: August 11, 2019, 10:47:38 AM
Hi, so I've stopped playing after prices galore (before Sööma) and now I've played a few matches as raider and wanted to let you know how I feel, since quite a lot has changed.

Sööma: I tried her ability in solo mode first. I don't want to let a team down. However it doesn't work there. I'm still experimenting with her, she seems okay-ish, much like Aneska, but maybe a bit more fun. I somehow think she was especially made to keep the old man alive.

Aleph drops: I had to ask that online how it works after I played a match. I'm not that big of a fan, becausing meleeing elites doesn't feel as rewarding. Also it's quite hard to see where/when/how the aleph-deposits get new aleph. However, Ginebra is probably more useful, as are other that can't go into melee as easily.
It really changed the gameplay more to that of a normal shooter, because you don't need to melee all that much.

General Gameplay: I don't know what really changed, but it feels a lot more chaotic and fast. Perhaps there are more ennemies, or the camera angle changed?

Difficulty: White tiers (even tier 1) seem to suck more than before, but that probably means, that beginners have more fun playing and stick to it.
Antags are tough, even when they are low tier. I still have to figure out how they can start a hunt for a raider. I think they have more fun than before, and I am fine with that.

Gameplay change: Kuzman got a shield? Okay, glad that you keep tweaking the game with some nice extras. Don't know if that shield is relevant though, but whatever.

Emotes: Love em! The new emotes are really cool. But since they have to be bought for every raider, I should really focus on 2-3 raiders at most.

Red Sun Event: That new sword does not look great, very similar to the other sword and is very expensive. The weapon skin is not all too great as well and hella expensive. I don't dislike events like these and I hope that it brings more money to you (you deserve it for the whole game!). I hope this pays off but it's not for me.

Recommendations:
Give Elites one aleph back as well as having (fewer) aleph stacks spawn on the map. And/or make the aleph on the map have an aleph outline you can see through walls, just like ennemies. Perhaps make it noticeable a bit before it spawn, so players rush towards the spawnpoint.

I would prefer to give more meaning to melee. You balanced it a bit too much in favour of just shooting things.

All in all:
Great to see that the game surprises me and that you experiment with things. I'll keep playing (more casually for personal reasons) and spending money if I think something looks cool and is not overpriced.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: The trolls need to be stopped
 on: July 12, 2019, 11:08:11 AM
I haven't had that problem for quite a while, but I encountered it too.
To all the people thinking that throwing (willfully loosing) a match is acceptable, I ask: why not leave?
If my ping is way too bad (or I don't have fun for another reason), I offer a surrender, if it's not accepted, I leave and take a 20 min. break or something.

Leaving is not nice and may make it extremely difficult, if not impossible to win, but throwing a match is rude, which is worse in my opinion.

Anyway, yes, please record, report and hope for them to get week-long bans.

+1 for everything Deridus said.

-1 for most other comments.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Everything Takes Too Long

I agree.
Some of those things are probably a "hidden" loading screen (like the cinematics). I would suggest to have a chatroom for that time, or make the chatroom an alternative to people who actually want to watch the cinematics. Then we could discuss tactics.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Fistful of Sand Needs to Change.
 on: June 08, 2019, 10:11:47 AM
I like the antag gameplay, but I like your suggestion as well. The antag shouldn't be able to finish the job. We had an Alicia that nailed the old guy against a wall and just jumped and dropped bombs.

Perhaps the higher the difficulty, the lower the antag can bring the old man. For example on 50 difficulty, the antag can destroy the shield and 50% of the old mans hp, everything after that, needs to come from grunts.

also: when the bar is full, you don't heal. Or the other way around, when the bar is low, you heal. That's why cards like "cold blood" for hades is so good. Not only are you hard to see, but also heal more often.

Also, I know there might be a slight language barrier, but it seems when a MSE employee responds to a post on the forums, it completely misses the mark and makes it sound like the devs are clueless and not paying attention. For example, recently I saw (another) post on overpowered Antags and how it is unfair to new players who barely know what they are doing. A Dev responded and said that the upcoming Team Up and Die patch will help the new player experience. The response had nothing to do with the complaint, and instead it came off as flippant and a little crass.

The response was on point. Part of  the problem stated was that beginners don't know what to do. The communication system helps guide people what to do.
I'm not saying it's a great system or that the problem is now solved, but the answer directly addressed part of the problem stated.

I've not been in this game as long as you have. I feel however that here my voice is heard more, than in any other game I've played so far. I appreciate that.

I agree on the first part: instead of whole news skins, some modifications (sunglasses, backpacks, hats, remove a skull in a tank) would be a very welcome addition.

Please no monthly pass, it's free to play. The PS-Subscribers get a little bit extra, but it is free to play without subscription on steam. I like that a lot, the "only" thing I bought were 10k M-Coin and I hope more people would do that to support a game they like and play so much.

Suggestions / Re: Paying for Loadout Slots? What?
 on: June 03, 2019, 03:01:39 PM
until identity I played with one loadout per raider (didn't spend money). It's fine, yes, not every raider was usable everywhere and I never equipped killerball on Schneider because yama was mostly useful.

However I played this game for quite some time and with identity I invested 10k M-Coin.

In short, the inconvenience is acceptable and like the game, and play quite a bit, I recommend you buy M-Coin, and compared to skins, the loadout-slots are quite cheap. Some skins (especiall naked Loath) are still too expensive and I'm waiting for the 40% cut.
