Suggestions / Re: Adding buffs and effect cards to the interface

This is actually really pretty useful TBH. I mean I don't really know if someone is 12 in game metres away or 11 and this would give an indication as to when is the right time to use a skill/attack. Thumbs up from me.

Suggestions / Hi Karen - Please read this

Hi, this is my second time posting and I’m just going to keep posting it like a petulant child until something is done about it.

As the experience progression boost is linked to aequilibrium meaning that those who do not want to antag are forced to, in order to retain a semi-decent exp boost, can we please at least make the amount required achievable in one losing game?

This would not affect those who like to antag. They will continue to level up in the same way they would, however it would allow those who do not want to antang but feel obliged to do it once to help their aequilibrum and in turn their guild without an overly detrimental effect to their gameplay experience.

Thank you.

Suggestions / Last Played Date in Guilds
 on: February 27, 2019, 01:29:37 PM
Hello.

For those of us with open guilds it would be good to see when the last time people played was in Order for us to be able to remove those players who no longer play. This housecleaning opens up slots for those who do still play to join and gives new players access to more guilds.

Thanks.

I know. It’s all a bit much. Snipers were killing me with one shot playing as Hades. WTF?

I don’t know what demographic is being aimed for by the constant tweaks in difficulty that result in just more difficulty.

And it’s not as if you, as the player have any choice in this. You either play at the difficulty given by MMR or tough shit buddy!

I have said this about seven times on the forums here and feel like, what’s the point.

Suggestions / You Cant Spell Antag without F.U.N.!

Oh wait, you can. It's literally the only way to spell it.

Hi.

Can we please make this bigger or flash or stay on screen for longer as I feel many people must miss it.

Thank you.

Yeah, I’m sure a tutorial will help but at the same time the game just needs to physically be easier for new players. I don’t think the game is as fun for new players as it could be.

Suggestions / Newbies vs The World

Here’s a suggestion. Maybe make the game a bit softer on newbies? Just a bit so it’s fair? Just so they stand a chance. Just so they can enjoy the game, get a feel for it, get hooked, before it goes full hardcore, balls to the wall, your mothers watching and is disappointed in you Spacelords? And increase the rewards for people playing mentor matches while you’re at it, give us a light at the end of the slog to look forward too. Who knows, maybe this would increase the player count to the level where MMR wpuld be relevant?

Overall I doubt new players enjoy getting their faces smashed continually. It’s not fun for me watching it either, watching the teams lives slowly evaporate into nothing as an unranked player sacrifices themselves to an Elite who then rampages the rest of the team.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: MMR is a poor mechanic

Hello Pohthehd,

Long time no see.

I get where you're coming from with this but my point is more about 'fun'. This is an objective viewpoint as what I think is fun you might not, additionally what I think is fun at certain points changes too but that flexibility isn't accommodated by the game in any way shape or form.

The game is difficult, we all know that, but when the difficulty precludes you from actually enjoying the game then it stops being fun and I don't want that. I don't think any of us do. I'm happy to play at an MMR that makes the game fun, where I enjoy the challenge but the challenge should be tailored to me as a gamer and what I'm looking for at that time, or I should at least be given that choice. The only choice I have at the moment is suck it up, suicide till the level is fun or just don't play. None of those are great options.

I played two matches today with unranked players and they both disconnected - presumably due to the difficulty - and honestly I don't really blame them. It's not as if there's no other choices out there for them to spend their time having fun as opposed to getting their faces mashed by a foot solider again and again and again without having any impact on the gameworld. It's not fun for them. It's not fun for me when they disconnect as I know that's likely another player the community has lost because the game doesn't show itself to be fun nor give players the choice to tailor their experience to what they think is fun.

And, finally, anyone who still uses 'git gud' (which the other poster spelt incorrectly, so I guess he better git gud scrub with his use of internet slang from four years ago...)  isn't adding anything to the discourse, they're just unimaginative and desperate for attention.

Gameplay Feedback / MMR is a poor mechanic
 on: February 12, 2019, 04:38:29 AM
MMR.

The bane of my life. I understand that it's supposed to match me with similarly skilled players but it doesn't does it? Because the player pool is so small you end up getting matched with people of all levels. OK, I would rather play than wait; but because the difficulty is set through some arcane mix of everyone's MMR, each players star sign and whether or not Mercury is in retrograde or ascending it means I have literally no idea how difficult a level is going to be.

Sometimes its a total cakewalk and I can fart my way through it.

Sometimes it's more difficult than embalming yourself while singing the Nepalise national anthem.

There is no consistency and that's the problem.

NONE.

It annoys the F* out of me. I don't always want to go up against enemies stronger than the Hulk. Sometimes I just want to have fun and play a game rather than constantly struggle to just breathe because even the baseline mooks are as strong as tier 1 Avengers.

When this game is fun - something that does not have a direct correlation with difficulty - it is a huge amount of fun! However at the same time I feel the game does its level best to avoid being fun far too often to be funny.

The option to set the difficulty myself, at the level I want to play at the time is the answer here. I'd imagine it would also help with keeping players too as they would have some granular control of the difficulty of the game as opposed to being thrown in with people who have several hundred levels more experience than them.

All I want is some semblance of consistency. I just want to know what kind of game I'm going to play.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Antagging is currently dead
 on: January 25, 2019, 04:54:48 PM
I created an account here, before reading the above, to speak about exactly that. I'm glad that it's not just me. I don't love Antaging but it's something I have to do in order to get more experience. Ok. So far so ok. It's part of the game and I get that.

But Jesus. It's a buffet out there. The raiders are eating me alive. I'm in the late 200's so not totally horrendous at the game. Example: my MMR 40, Raiders skill was 41 on MOM with a lvl 18 in tow.  Another example. HBaT. There were two ads and they were walking away from the raiders. What? Really?

Not one of them died via the enemies or boss. Not one. I died continuously and repeatedly.

They did the level in 8 minutes. 8. Would anyone who has played this game before think that's normal?

It's just not even remotely fun. Like at all. This is the worst part. I don't play this game to get annoyed or angry, I play it for fun and that's what isn't there any more as an antag. It's a chore. Chores are not fun.

There is not any incentive to play antag other than friendly or just waiting it out which is a shame and that's what I'll have to do...
