 on: August 30, 2017, 08:05:55 PM
The Raiders fans recently voted Alicia as their favourite character during the Beta, and for a good reason. She has a very defined Assault profile, thanks to her superhuman agility and high speed. Her weapons of choice are repeater shotguns, nicely complementing her superb mobility with great mid-range firepower.

Here is the first on the new #DevShouts series, we delve into the tactical aspects of the game, and hint how to get the best out of your Raider of choice. In this occasion, one of our Game Designers shares his preferred build when playing as Alicia.

Ship's Log / The new BETA is upon us
 on: August 17, 2017, 06:10:01 PM
Hola Raiders!

As we wait for the surprise we have prepared for tomorrow, we thought you’d like to hear that the #RaidersBeta is back this weekend, and it will feature some changes from previous editions.

As usual, the Beta will start on Saturday 19th, 09:00 Europe /CEST, and ends on Sunday 20th, 19:00PM Europe /CEST. US servers will be live from Saturday 19th 09:00AM to Sunday 20th 19:00PM (EST), and of course any key-holding closed beta participants can once again join in the fun!

As we speak, the team is busy implementing some important changes to the “In Shock” mission, thanks to the feedback you provided (Thanks!), thus this mission won’t be available next weekend. Those changes will add gameplay options and implement new strategies, and we are testing it hard to ensure it’s perfect when you get to play it.

Here’s a list of the improvements you will find on this new Beta:

-   New “Universe” section added to the game (WIP)
-   Hints and Tips texts added to the loading screens (Might be in Spanish though!)
-   Improved HUD, including D Pad options.
-   Improved Boss health bar.
-   Polished IA for the Grunts’ behaviour.
-   Bug fixing to avoid losing Aleph upon entering a cutscene.
-   Overall performance optimization for all the missions.

We are also working on character balance. We have seen some interesting debate about Shae and Konstantine in our forums, and we encourage you to add to it with your impressions after the Beta -That’s all important to us!

That’s all for now. Stay tuned for more news tomorrow, and don’t forget to share your thoughts about the game using the #RaidersBeta hashtag on Social Media.

See you on the Broken Planet!

Our fourth developer diary for Raiders of the Broken Planet is now out. This video, along with the previous third developer diary, asks the question - does the world need another shooter? In the first part Game Designer, Joan Amat, and Gameplay Programmer, Hernan Ojuel, guided us through the systems underpinning Raiders Of The Broken Planet. Now, they get down to the action as they try to take back the Aleph, the mythical power source at the heart of the game. The video details the shifting, dynamic nature of levels and objectives as well as the unique way in which Aleph is accrued through melee combat.

Not only that, but Joan and Hernan also discuss the game’s organic cover system and the impact it has on stealth gameplay and flanking manoeuvres. By the end of the video, you’ll see the impact the Antagonist can have on a mission and the cost of letting your guard down.

Alicia and her friends admired General Marmalade and enthusiastically embraced the addiction to Aleph plasma that he proclaimed. But one day it went too far and Alicia decided to leave the General. When she went back for her friends, she was acosted by a horde of Aleph fuelled subhuman abominations who got in her way. When it was all over, she realized she had killed what was left of her old comrades.

A brand new developer diary for Raiders of the Broken Planet focusing on THE big question the team have been asking themselves - does the world need another shooter?

The answer of course is yes, but it needs to be an innovative take on the genre. In this multi-part developer diary, Game Designer Joan Amat and Gameplay Programmer Hernan Ojuel guide us through the basics of Raiders of the Broken Planet. They take a deep dive into the game’s unique features: its characters, abilities, perk systems and weapons before they jump into 4-player co-op match that gets invaded by an antagonist in the following episode.

In addition, the developer diary delves deeper into the role of the antagonist, not only in the story but how the counter-operative adds to the overall adventure aspect of the game.
