Then it's just the old system with an arbitrary delay and a hard cap on survivability.

It's all well and good to say it sucks but there really needs to be a detailed breakdown of why so people can't just say we're being stubborn to adapt.

I was so ready to praise this update. I was so excited to see fresh new players flood in for the overhaul. Of all of the changes that could have made, Aleph drops was a terrible call. If mechanic is here to stay, I don't think I can tolerate this anymore.

I dunno, I've played 5 games and every match we are bleeding lives. I don't think it's even technically "harder", I'm at like 35 mmr. It's this damn aleph drop mechanic, the safety net is gone. You go into the thick of things you better have over heal because you're going to get shot to death the moment you grapple anyone. Even worse, you take out a. Elite just to have a other run up and eat your aleph.

I thought that too but, even if you had a full stack it was still vital to get aleph for heals.

I don't like it either. I agree, keep the ammo drops, restore the old aleph system. In concept I like it, it can allow for better aleph distribution. But the bad outweighs the good. I'd rather deal with the occasional aleph hog, than having my ability to survive crowds severely diminished.

With the identity update coming tomorrow I'm wondering if the gold and faction points I currently have saved will get me more or less content. I have an itching feeling I should just spend it all now.

Maybe it's your connection. Sorry I'm still pissed that the cqc system is broke. And instead of working on it the devs blame the connection and won't look into it. Seems like the cqc system is just balance against the raiders and that's how it's going to stay.

Thing is it cannot just be lag because:
A. Raiders cannot interrupt elites/antags grapples once their animation connects. But, ads/elites/antags can interrupt raider grapples at any point before the animation concludes.

B. The coding mechanism that targets which entity to grapple is trash. It ignores the direction you're pointing the stick and always seems to favor ads and invincible elites rather than downed elites/antags within grapple range.

There is a Catch 22 of the match making system not working effectively becase there is not a big enough pool of players (compposed of a variety of skill levels), and there is not a big enough pool of players because the match making system is not currently effective.   What is the solution? (insert "shrug" emoji here.)

Thing is we really don't know if that's the case, without numbers. We assume the population is lacking because of queue times. But it could very well that the  matchmaking is not optimal. I still see mostly tier 6 players on any given night so I don't know if there really is a population problem.

You're functionally advocating that criticism on this forum be outright dismissed. Haters gonna hate' is a cop out. It's not about attacking the devs its about letting them know what turns off customers.

Underneath it all, what a lot of those 'complainers' are really saying is; "Spacelords, get out of your own damn way and let me be your whale". The money I'd be putting into this game if I felt confident, well I'd have all of the characters at least.

Do you honestly believe people here are salty because they want to be? Criticism is a vital ingredient for a long term business. You can't fix something that you don't know is broken.

Much like my posts, game design is an iterative process. People know change is part of the deal, and they are naturally going to have an ideal outcome once they've invested. I get that you're looking out for the devs, but that's what they signed up for when they decided to do a live service game.

I don't advocate harassment. I'm saying that the business is all about managing expectations in a transactional framework. As consumers, feedback is really the only play we have other than folding.

I am right there with you. I'm seeing changes but I ain't seeing any that are trying to fix the core problem. The problem being low return on investment. For every hour of play I might get 10 minutes of satisfaction if I'm lucky. Long que times, inconsistent difficulty, trolly antags, being forced to watch cutscenes, being forced to go through 2 post mission breakdowns, getting low rewards for the most time consuming and frustrating matches, being benched for 5+ minutes if I get kicked or disconnected, being stuck in unwinnable loops because people either don't know they can surrender or don't want to dispite being stuck in a quagmire. Ugh.

As far as I know each character has a max limit to thier ammo pool. Clip size increases don't alter the max limit. Max is 112, regular clip is 20, spiral clip is 30.

If you're placing barriers at full clip you can get 6 barriers without spiral, and only 4 barriers with spiral. For my set up; average damage per shot is 30.

So factoring for bullets that get eaten (10 per barrier * 4 barriers * dam per bullet 30) that is an estimated 1200 damage that is not being delt to enemies, and is not aiding in defense. Incidently,  the 40 wasted bullets is nearly half of Mika's max ammo pool (only 16 short).

I thought maybe expending the excess ammo before placing a barrier might help. Though since the effectiveness is % based it just results in more but weaker barriers.

I've been using this card wrong way too long.

So the card is wasted on this weapon. That sucks. Wish I had any way of knowing that before pouring a bunch of ammo down the toilet.
