Gameplay Feedback / Re: New Player Feedback
 on: December 10, 2018, 09:29:31 PM
Wow, that was quite the read. As someone who has played the game since it first came out over a year ago, I would say go with your gut. Many of the complaints you have about the progression and stuff like that is common knowledge among those of us that have put alot of time into it, but the fact you feel that combat is "slow" is a bit odd. I have played few games that throw the kind of action at players that Spacelords does. Hordes of shotgun toting baddies bearing down on you and pinning u behind cover are common occurrences in nearly every match. Dodging sniper fire and rockets while taking down an elite enemy that can take you out if you misstep or choose the wrong action in a cqc battle. I will say it takes alot more than a couple hours to really experience what the game has to offer. I believe there is a good chance you will find more and more to enjoy the more you keep at it, but do what makes you happy.

Spacelords’ Advice / Re: Tips on how to deal with Hans antagonists?
 on: December 10, 2018, 07:12:36 PM
Or raiders too I guess, but I don't personally play antag.

But yeah, I can deal with every other character fine, but Hans is the only one that causes me major headaches. So much so, that I actually play like a try hard against lower level Hans players SMH...

I know it's characters/weapon dependent, but any general tips/strategies on how to deal with him?

Hans antagonists? Oh u mean Lord Draco playing Weapon from the Past? You get comfortable with the idea of not winning and hope its over quickly. There isn't an opportunity to shoot a grapple because he has already shot your feet and put you in crit, and there is no such thing as out of fuel because he never comes out of the air... ::) Credit where credit is due though, while it may be a similarly aggravating and repetitive strategy utilized by the R&R Alicia antags of old (Jump, spam pain, crit, grapple, repeat) if it gets the job done, why do anything different?

Or if you are training solo on a stage it would be great to fill the three spots left with the Cortez Bros. That way you have the freedom to try out strategies and card builds that involve other players/npc before you jump into a regular mission.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Low Level vs. High Level rewards

@Pothehd, Gold is something hardly any veterans of the game would consider buying. I'm sitting at around 400k gold and recently built the last three or four blueprints I had left to collect that we're worth probably an additional 250-300k putting my recent total in the last few weeks to around 700k. The truth is that people in the 2 or 300's and up have built pretty much everything they need and the gold just accumulates over time.
With that being said, gloating over gold is pretty stupid.

Gameplay Feedback / Mentor Matches should be Gentle
 on: December 03, 2018, 06:24:29 PM
Mmr for mentor matches should be set to the mmr of the new player. I can't imagine many level 1's wanting to return to a game after 7 or 8 Hades division engulf them ad  nauseum at 55% mmr on Low Blow while everyone else is chasing down 4 or 5 engineers.
It might mean an easier ride for everyone, but if the idea is to help bring them into this world and get familiarized with their characters, then that's how it should be set up. Try and see it from the level 1 perspective too. Alongside them are level 100+ players. I I don't know about you but if I'm the starting player  feeling the pressure to not let the team down, to pull my own weight as best as I can. Reality is, the level 1 is completely useless, completely ineffective at dealing damage, feeds the elites and a complete hinderence to the team. If this is the point of mentor matches, it's stupid.

I understand where you are coming from too Draco. I don't play Warframe but I do dabble with plenty of Android games and several of them do offer their premium currency in small amounts for various reasons. I fully understand it's a Longshot and would genuinely be shocked if they implemented that.

@Lancer, oh I think they would possibly consider rewarding Mercury Points. I don't know how recent you are to Spacelords but back in the day of the invitation system before the game was free to play, if you invited a new player to play a stage of the game they didn't own you earned I believe 150 Mercury Points (possibly more) if it was their first time being invited.

Oh yes the lag with cqc and missing strikes that should land and then get you grabbed and killed is infuriating. I definitely hear you with that one.

@Tekato, as far as "one shot fests" go, at certain difficulties even a lowly grunt can drop you with one blast. At your level I know that you know this already. Ungodly amount of damage that can drop your fully overhealed Hive in a heartbeat is a regular occurrence with the way they jack up the adds in this game. CQC has always been a rock paper scissors guessing game to an extent and it just takes feeling out the Antagonist  your battling to see what their tendencies are. I'm no god at this game, and I don't use a mic either when I play to coordinate, but I do try and play as much as I can in a team and avoid random matchmaking and that results in wins 95% of the time regardless of whether or not an Antagonist shows up.  Sorry for the long post but I guess in closing I'm trying to say that I highly doubt Mercurysteam is going to change the way damage is dealt and the way the crits work and the cqc and everything. One of their main goals is to make this game super challenging so that's how it is whether we like it or not.

I absolutely love the Cortez bro addition. Can't wait to see it in action when someone disconnects.

I would love a daily reward of like 25 Mercury points for when you consecutively log in and complete atleast one mission or something. It would encourage everyone to check into the game more AND help you work torwards a skin or extra loadout you have been interested in.

"Mentor Matches", oh yeah the match where you get 20% more xp and a little more gold and faction when all the new players quit in the first section.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Disgusting

Thankyou Noblewolf, I mostly am frustrated when I'm needing to get the consecutive wins for a chance at a blueprint and then people want to surrender at first sign of trouble. I meant to mention that point more clearly than I did in my original post.
To anyone I may have offended with my complaint, I apologize if it came off a bit harsh. I just get frustrated with the way things go sometimes.

I ll go to vote surrender but still play. Im not trying to promote the rage quit culture.

But yea man, I play as an Antag and i know that shit is cheap lol.
I always vote surrender on any antag match but ofc I'm forced to play through this 1 shot pvp mess with no real choice.

This is the kind of stuff that drives me crazy. I already have to tolerate the blueprint system as it is, putting together win streaks and then HOPING to get the right blueprint to present itself and then HOPING the % gods allow me the opportunity to receive and build it. Now we have weak-willed players that refuse to participate/call for surrender at the first sign of an Antagonist. Let's be honest, the Antag may cause you to get a 7.5 on a mission rather than a 9, and fighting them may net you 1k gold instead of 1.5k good (Major difference..) It is only occasional occurrence though, by surrendering your messing up my opportunity to receive a blueprint I have worked torward just because ONE other human player is standing in your way and you don't like it. I understand if your team is on their third set of lives and the map/antagonist is dominating your team and your only on the first section, but surrendering instantly especially with new/low level players in the mix can hurt other players in the squad who give every mission all they have and lose that chance and have to go back to the drawing board because you don't want to try.
