Schneider is the latest addition to join the roster of Raiders on May 31st. We met him during the In Media Res mission, where this rebellious teenager gave us a really hard time. After capturing him, Schneider seems to be joining Harec’s band, and we bet his relationship with other Raiders will be somewhat complicated. This irreverent punk, fully aware of his outstanding intelligence, will always behave like the spoiled teenager he is.

This whiz kid built his SCHN31D3r when he was 14 years old, and it is his special weapon. Schneider is a weakling compared to the rest of the Raiders, and his pistol doesn’t deal lots of damage, but his real strength resides in his drone, and its ability to lay deadly traps for his enemies.

Playing with Schneider is all about setting ambushes to catch your rivals unawares, luring them toward chokepoints and deploying your aerial drone, who will then gun them down with its lasers. When playing in Antagonist mode, you can use SCHN31D3r to cover the Raiders’ objectives, and foil their mission in a smart and satisfactory manner.

While Schneider can give us the impression of being a nasty little brat, this hacker is bound to offer great fun to those players more inclined towards tactical combat. Want to learn more? Join Meristation’s YouTube channel today at 18:30 CEST/9:30 PST, for an exclusive gameplay reveal of this spoiled but smart ass hacker: https://www.youtube.com/user/meristation/

Ship's Log / Patch Notes 09
 on: May 29, 2018, 07:36:48 PM

Dear Raiders,

The main goal for this patch is to dive deep into Card power and come out of it with more meaningful Card choices for each Raider. We're happy with the result, but regrettably the Wardog faction and its Raiders are not ready just yet.

This is because -good news! - we caught some nasty, nasty bugs and we all agreed it was better to rush the patch without Wardog balance to get the bugs fixed ASAP.

Card balance changes for Alicia, Loaht and H.I.V.E. will come in the next soon-to-be-released patch.

Check what's in Patch 09 now: https://www.raidersofthebrokenplanet.com/news/patch-notes-09-1

Loaht’s love for high-calibre weaponry and his dry sense of humour are well known. Thus, it’s no surprise that he affectionally dubbed his latest grenade launcher “Cookie”.

Officially designated as CLK-4R by Rough Dinamics ltd., this grenade launcher uses Plutonite rounds, a ferociously radioactive (and hugely expensive) mineral that can only be obtained in the Dorsa mines, in Pluto.

When exposed to high temperatures, the Plutonite triggers a chain reaction culminating in several detonations. Loaht knew General Marmalade had been experimenting with Plutonite before he discovered the Aleph, and stole most of the General’s stock prior to defecting the Umbra Wardogs.

You can get the “Cookie” Blueprint in the No Reservations map.

This new weapon is a great match to Loaht’s Grendel skin. As Loaht grew more familiar with his power and gained more control over it, the beast’s skin started to grow scales and adopt a darker hue.

Being tired of shredding his clothes whenever he transformed, Loaht contacted the Humblebee clan, famous for their ultra-elastic battle suits. The Raider chose a prototype painted a garish yellow hue. After all, what’s the point of wearing camouflage when you are a 4-metre-tall rampaging monster?

To celebrate the release of the “Cookie”, the Grendel skin is 30% off until May 27th. Hurry up!

Ship's Log / Patch Notes 07.2
 on: April 13, 2018, 01:36:47 PM
With all the changes introduced to the rewards system, playing as the Antagonist is now more popular than ever. This has repercussions all around the player ecosystem and many of the changes here are a consequence of it.

REWARDS

Playing as the antagonist is a challenge. The Raiders outnumber them 4 to 1 and most people will lose more than they win. And it should feel fine!
Being the antagonist, is not just about victory. It is about delaying the Raiders and making their life difficult and we want to better reward that.

- Decreased difference between high and low scores on rewards when playing as the antagonist. Overall antagonist XP gains have increased

MISSION RENTING

With the release of Hades Betrayal we are also revisiting the renting system. We want to explore setups different than the current 49k/4h system and see how they work out. The goal as usual is to give users more options to enjoy Raiders of the Broken planet.

- Reduced renting duration from 4h to 2h30m
- Reduced renting price from 49000 Gold to 22000 Gold

CARD SYSTEM

For people just starting with Raiders, there is no use for Faction Points (FP) until a few hours into the game. We want new players discover cards and shuffling much earlier than they currently are:

- Decreased level requierements to draw Faction Cards from 5/11/17 to 5/8/11.
- Decreased level requierement to shuffle Faction Cards from 22 to 12.

CHARACTERS

When we moved from a pure Gold system into a Level plus Gold system, Wardogs kind of got the short end of the deal ;). The 3rd lowest level-requierement Wardog Raider was more demanding than the 4th lowest level-requierement Hades Raider, so we swapped that.

- Mikah and HIVE Level and Gold requeriments have been swapped.

PASSIVE STATS

We're closely monitoring the delicate balance between level progression feeling rewarding and being able to overcome level differences with other players with tactical and technical skill. For now, we are removing some passive power from the melee aspect of the progression.

- Brute force and Resistance passives have decreased their effects by 25%

INVITATIONS

The maximum number of invitations one can hold at a time is now 10, this allows us to increase invitation drop-rates and properly reward people who do use them.

- Increased invitation droprate (+50%)

Hi, Raiders!

Although Hades Betrayal, the third premium campaign of Raiders of the Broken Planet, is already accesible in some platforms and territories, it's taking a bit longer to activate for Season Pass owners on Xbox One. We are confident that it will be live during the day.

We have read all the messages related to this topic and it's a matter of time. The Founders Pack and the Ultimate Pack should be active in hours.

Thank you very much for your patience!

Ship's Log / Hades Betrayal Progression System FAQ
 on: March 23, 2018, 06:10:28 PM
Hades Betrayal, Raiders of the Broken Planet’s third campaign is almost here, and it will be accompanied by a totally new progression system that dramatically changes the way you play Raiders of the Broken Planet. Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmlJ8gZR22w

Both, veteran and new players will find a more natural and accessible way to progress through the game. If you have been playing Raiders of the Broken Planet for a while, you’ll naturally have questions about how all these changes will affect you. We’ll try to cover all topics in detail in this thread, and if you have any specific question that we didn’t address, please post it below and the developers will be happy to clarify it.

Please, bear in mind the following applies only to the matchmaking game mode.

Level, rewards and character progression

o   All players start at Level 1.

-   Veteran players keep all unlocked Raiders, Weapons, Weapon Blueprints and Cards they have obtained so far, as well as their current Gold, Mercury Points, Faction Points and Invitations.

-   Character Points will disappear from the game. All cards will be managed with Faction Points only. All Character Points will be converted into Faction Points (of each Raiders’ corresponding Faction) at a 1:1 ratio.

-   Recruiting Raiders with Mercury Points will no longer be possible.

o   Players will level up by acquiring Experience Points (XP). All players are awarded XP at the end of each mission.

-   Gold, Faction Points and Blueprints will be acquired in the same way as they are now.

-   The Antagonist will no longer gain Stigmas. Instead, they will receive XP, Gold, Faction Points and Blueprints just like Raiders do. Antagonists will not share rewards with anyone, but they will still have to choose one between Gold, Faction Points and Blueprint.

o   You obtain additional rewards for leveling up.

-   They include Gold, temporary XP boosts and the capacity to forge better weapons.

-   Access to new Raiders and Cards also unlock upon reaching certain levels.
   Beware! Make sure to lock any Card that you don’t want to lose before shuffling! It might not be made available to you until a higher level.

-   Gold prices for recruiting Raiders have been reduced by 50%!

o   Every time you level up you will do so with either Raider or Antagonist affinity.

-   Your affinity is tied to how you gained your last level:

   If you got enough XP points playing as an Antagonist (20% of the total XP needed for that level), you will have Antagonist affinity. Otherwise your affinity will be Raider.

   You will be able to change your affinity when you level up again.

-   Building or upgrading weapons will require a specific Affinity.

-   Cards also have affinity. You will only be able to draw new cards of your current affinity. This will give you more control of which cards can come out of every shuffle.

   Cards can also come with a permanent XP modifier that make leveling up faster.

o   The higher your level is, the more powerful your Raiders become.
The Aequilibrium

The Aequilibrium

o    Aequilibrium is a delicate balance that determines the influence either the Raiders or the Uras-Beherit have over the Broken Planet.

-   Each player will be placed on a group with other players of similar level.

-   Whenever they level up with Raider or Antagonist affinity, the Aequilibrium will move in that direction.

-   All group members will receive better XP gains at the end of each mission if the Aequilibrium is balanced.

-   These Aequilibrium groups do not affect anything else outside of that XP bonus. You will still be able to play with anyone you like.

o      Forge System

-   Weapons can now be customized to suit each player’s style of play.

   Each weapon offers different options for customization.

   By leveling up, players will increase their forge level and build more powerful versions of their favorite weapons.

   Weapons are build and updated by spending a Blueprint.
*   As a consequence, Blueprint drop chances have been increased across the board.

o       New challenges

-   Just like the Raiders are getting stronger, the AI will also receive new difficulty levels.

   Your current MMR (matchmaking rating) is displayed on the main menu.

   When you queue for a match, you will be grouped with players of similar MMR.

   Higher MMRs result in higher difficulties and better prizes.

-   The Raiders will now have one opportunity to use gold during the Survive phase to make the Pilot return with Aleph instantly.

   If the Antagonist manages to make the Raiders panic and use that option, he/she will receive extra prizes at the end of the mission.

   This will allow the Antagonist to reach great scores even if the Raiders beat the mission.

o      Raider rank and Stigmas

-   The new leveling system replaces the current Raider and Antagonist ranks.

   All your Historical Stigmas accumulated will be traded for XP boosts at a 5:1 ratio.

   Your current Raider Rank will be traded for XP boosts at a 5:1 ratio.

   The maximum amount of XP boosts that you can receive in this fashion is 40.

-   This should make sure that veterans experience the new leveling up system properly but still come out ahead after playing for a few hours.

   Leveling up offers rewards that you really don’t want to miss! We believe XP boosts are a better way of getting veterans up to speed than directly giving them a high level and skipping some content.

Ship's Log / Hades Betrayal Announcement
 on: March 16, 2018, 02:48:27 PM
Hades Betrayal Campaign Coming to Raiders of the Broken Planet on April 4th. The game’s third campaign comes accompanied by a totally overhauled progression system and new look and feel that changes the way Raiders of the Broken Planet is played!

Hades Betrayal, the third premium campaign for Raiders of the Broken Planet, will be launching on April 4th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Just like the previous campaigns, Alien Myths and Wardog Fury, Hades Betrayal will be available to purchase as a stand-alone campaign for just €/$/£9.99.

Hades Betrayal includes four new, action-packed missions, all playable in either single-player, 4 player co-op or the intense 4 v 1 Antagonist mode, pitting the Raiders against the most powerful military organization in the galaxy: The Hades Division. Outnumbered and outgunned by General Krauser’s army, the Raiders’ only chance is to convince the mercenary outfit’s chief of security, Ayana Kwena, to betray the Hades Division and help defeat them from the inside, an impossible task for Harec and his allies.

“In Hades Betrayal we delve into the military might of the Hades Division, and their plan to establish supremacy over all the Broken Planet,” said Enric Álvarez, Game Director. “The four intense missions included highlight the bitter rivalry that exists between the Division and the other factions, who are fighting over control of the Aleph production - something the Raiders must exploit if they want to stand any chance of succeeding in their mission!”

Hades Betrayal’s launch will be accompanied by a major overhaul to Raiders of the Broken Planet’s progression and reward system, along with a visual redesign and inclusion of many new game features. Players will now be able to rank up to unlock new rewards, and with the new Forge system they can customize weapons obtained during the missions.

The Antagonist role has also been redesigned, with them now receiving similar rewards to those obtained by the Raiders - Experience, Gold, Faction Points and Weapon Blueprints - based on the player’s performance during the game.

“When Hades Betrayal arrives, Raiders of the Broken Planet will effectively be a different game to the one we launched half a year ago,” adds Álvarez. “The changes we are introducing to the progression and reward systems are a direct result of player feedback gathered over the last six months. The fans are truly passionate about the game and being in touch with them daily allowed us to dramatically and radically improve our offering.  Raiders of the Broken Planet is now a much better game because of this. We also hope this shows our unflinching commitment with Raiders. The game will continue to receive new and better content over time as we work with our dedicated player base”

Raiders of the Broken Planet is available now on Steam, the Xbox Store –Xbox One & Windows10- and the PlayStation Store. The free Eternal Soldier campaign contains two missions, seven characters and sets the stage for the incredible story to follow. The first two campaigns of the 2017 Season, Alien Myths and Wardog Fury, are available to purchase for €/$/£9.99 each, including the lethal sniper Shae and the bestial Loaht as exclusive characters. The third campaign, Hades Betrayal, will release on April 4th featuring the noble Ayana Kwena as an exclusive character.

Ship's Log / New VK9-9 for Mikah
 on: March 14, 2018, 07:46:05 PM

The sneakiest Raider on the Broken Planet, Mikah, can now unlock a new weapon: the VK9-9. The blueprint to build this assault rifle can be obtained in the The Enemy Within mission.

Mikah stole the VK9-9 assault rifle from GOSSAMER RINGS production facilities when they started the quality testing of this weapon before starting mass production for the Tarma Ilunaii army. This is an all-round rifle that can switch between semi-automatic and 3-round bursts.  You can watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=no0UvToMOnE

Also available today are 10 new Character Cards for Mikah! Personalize this former Hades Division stowaway and get an edge over your rivals.

On top of all that, Mikah’s rare skin, Shadow Raider, is 40% off until March 18!

The “Echo” holographic device employed by Mikah was originally part of an experimental Hades Division Special Infiltration Operations suit. These suits never made it past the prototype stages, as the radiation emitted by the “Echo” bilocation vortex proved to be lethal for the test subjects. Mikah managed to get hold of a suit and modified it to reduce the radiation to tolerable parameters, at the expense of reducing the hologram’s resolution and resistance to damage.

See you on The Broken Planet, Raiders!

Ship's Log / Rare Skins Discounted
 on: March 12, 2018, 06:40:45 PM

Due to the success of the recent discounts on some of the most popular Raiders of the Broken Planet skins, MercurySteam has decided to permanently reduce the price on three rare skins by 50%: “Sabertooth” Heavy Armour, and Slave Unit, both for Ginebra, and Loaht’s Grendel. Additionally, those players who purchased those skins on or after February 12, will have 50% of their invested Mercury Points reimbursed!

Ginebra: Slave Unit

Dr. Pavel Kuzmann designed the vile Slave Unit Program. Using reanimated cadavers, Dr. Kuzmann cloned the minds of the best Fifth Council Hunter Units. These Slave Units could be controlled remotely by their originals, called Alpha Units, thus expanding their area of operations and reducing risks. Given Ginebra’s exceptional performance, the Fifth Council granted her control over several of such units.

Ginebra: “Sabertooth” Heavy Armour

When tasked with the elimination of high-risk targets by the Fifth Council, Ginebra donned the heavy Sabretooth battle chassis, including extra armour plating and a more aggressive outline, designed to intimidate her prey.

Loaht: Grendel

As Loaht grew more familiar with his power and gained more control over it, the beast’s skin started to grow scales and adopt a darker hue. Being tired of shredding his clothes whenever he transformed, Loaht contacted the Humblebee clan, famous for their ultra-elastic battle suits. The Raider chose a prototype painted a garish yellow hue. After all, what’s the point of wearing camouflage when you are a 4-metre-tall rampaging monster?

We hope you enjoy these skins. See you on the Broken Planet, Raiders!

Ship's Log / New Weapon for Shae
 on: February 28, 2018, 06:17:17 PM

Shae’s new weapon, the Phax UTT-17 (Modified), is now available to unlock for all Raiders of the Broken Planet players. Shae’s weapon of choice when adopting the aspect of the Emnu Dagan was a modification of the Phax UTT-17. The Phax UTT-17 uses a shutter system to zeroing the objective. Shae connected the shutter to a pressure sensor, using the accumulated pressure, the shutter increases the weapon’s aiming speed. Shae also replaced the purge system for a progressive one, preventing the weapon from being completely depressurized when operated. All those changes and modifications obeyed a single purpose: to kill as many humans as possible.

You can see the weapon here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUk-90t5fcA&amp=&lc=

To celebrate the launch of this new weapon for Shae, its accompanying skin, the Emnu Dagan, is 50% off until Sunday 4th of March!

Blind with grief and seeking revenge for her master’s murder, Shae started to raid human settlements, modifying her outfit to adopt the form of the Emnu Dagan. The Emnu Dagan is a demon from the local folklore, said to feed on his victims’ souls and crying tears of their blood after consuming them. Shae’s objective was not to exterminate the Terrans, but to instil fear and break their spirits. To that end she attacked by night and always made sure to leave one survivor. After a while, legends of a daemonic manhunter started to sow panic among the invading factions.

See you on the Broken Planet, Raiders!

Ship's Log / New Weapon for Harec
 on: February 21, 2018, 06:08:16 PM

Ferox Impetus is a Semi-automatic sniper rifle that Harec took from a Hades Division corpse thanks to the “indications” given by one of the severed heads he carried as trophies. As with the Headhunter skin, this weapon is embellished with Hades Division insignia taken from fallen officers and kill marking carved over the stock. As this rifle uses a magazine and not a bolt action system, Harec made a cut over the weapon’s case to imprint the bullets with Aleph without blowing the rifle to pieces. You can obtain the blueprint to build this weapon in the “In Shock” mission. Check the trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HiE68H3fFI

Along with this new rifle, Harec’s Headhunter skin -complete with its grisly trophies- is 30% off until February 25!

Before founding the Raiders, Harec’s only purpose was vengeance. Out of his mind with sorrow, he slaughtered any human invader to cross his path, even collecting grisly mementos from his victims. Two of his first trophies were the heads of two particularly difficult kills, with whom he had long conversations during his long, sleepless nights.

We hope you enjoy this weapon. See you on the Broken Planet, Raiders!
