Spacelords Universe / Re: Let's have a chat about Antagonist.

Using "vulgar" language isn't necessarily toxic.  I was obviously being tongue in cheek, if you know me, which you do, but if you want to react to it as if I was serious, then you're free to leave.

I still enjoy antagging.  I'm just not able to get matches fast enough for my level of patience.  2/3 Hours queues is too much for me.

wtf?  You waited 3 hours for a game?!  Does this sound like a sustainable model to you?

Antag is the ENTIRE point of the game.  It's THE unique feature and style of this game.  Antag haters...*** out.  Hahah.  But seriously, matches with them are more interesting and fun. Matches without them are boring.  That's just how it is.

That is your subjective opinion.  And yes, I have *** out, whatever word you used.  I deleted like 6 months ago.  The PvP is sometimes fun, but horribly broken.  I really won't argue this as some games attract thousands and thousands of people from around the world to compete professionally, and when I played spaced lords I usually got teamed with the same 150 or so people over, and over, and over, and over - and obviously it's not a serious eSport.  Do you think the Devs designed the Alicia smoking daisy for kamikaze antagonist use?  Of course they didn't.   This game is so good it should be WAY more popular but MSE keeps making bad business choices.

The forced random PvP is a joke.  R6Siege, SW Battlefront, Paladins, Overwatch, new call of duty and literally every other game I can think of have a co-op PvE mode where you can practice, have fun, and grind a bit in a less sweaty environment.  When you want to get sweaty you go to PvP.  If it wasn't forced, the antagonist wouldn't have to be undertuned.  Increase the rewards for PvP, decrease them for PvE, and get yourself a real game and real game commnunity going, otherwise see you later.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Demotivated to play.

I literally watched one streaming match yesterday, and it was a vs antag starting out with a cortez on the raider team.  Seriously, that is lame.  If the antag wants to play he should have to join the raider team or wait.   It's not the 3 raiders fault they can't queue with a full time, yet they are punished for it.  This is why I will never play or recommend this game.  They said they would fix this months and months ago but never did.  Whatever, I've moved on but I do miss this game, on the rare occasion where matchmaking was actually balanced.

"Even if you eliminate rewards, "

This would be great but will never happen.   I would love that actually, I would consider paying for it.  Sometimes I just want to have a chill casual game, I don't want grief.  My brother is very good at sniper in COD so it would be fun to fight him as harec.

The Plauge was a big part of why I quit this game months ago.  Also the sa du gun.  These broken weapons get introduced and run rampant for months before nerfs, and toxic tryhards abuse them to the fullest.  Until there is dedicated PvE I wouldn't even think of picking this game up again.

R6 Siege, Overwatch, Paladins, all have options to do co-op vs. A.I., and Siege and Paladins have characters bans.  Overwatch you can change characters mid match.  MSE doesn't believe in control or choices though.  I'll give them credit for fixing the card system, but then again why did it start out so screwy to begin with.  Going from bad to normal doesn't really deserve much praise.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: My opinion on infinite ammo
 on: September 25, 2019, 12:06:30 PM
I appreciate the response, but what makes the game most inaccessible for new players was not the aleph.  It was the passives/poor matchmaking (getting matched with veteran antags as a noob raider), and confusing inconsistent MMR.

Yes I agree, getting aleph from the elites did feel magical.  New COD is coming out soon and is going suck players from ALL other games, including spacelords.  I tried the beta and it felt amazing, even though I don't really like those mindless no-strategy type of games.  If I was you I'd make my experimentation decisions and all prioritization decisions wisely, as this will be a new and powerful dynamic in the gaming business (Black Ops 4 was a huge letdown, there is a big hunger for new COD).

This is coming from someone who would like to see spacelords reach it's maximum potential.  Best wishes.

Is the Melee CQC fixed yet?  I was watching streamers and it looked like there was lots of problems the last few months.

The Ammo and Aleph should reverted to pre identity update, with the caveat of dropping the aleph gem if you already have a 5 stack.  I think that's what most players want.  To this day no one has given me an explanation why it had to be changed, other than "to experiment," which is bad answer, because in this stage of the game they should be conservative and stick with what they know people like, and discard what people don't.  There's is no time left to turn people off or acquire bad reputations.

I haven't played paladins in a while but I liked their com system.  There were like 60 combos with the D-Pad that were useful strategically but also just friendly and funny memes too.  Granted it took memorization and practice but as someone who doesn't like using a mic, I loved it.

"sorry"
"thanks"
"ok"
"group up"
"follow me"
"defend the objective"
"i need healing"
"my ultimate is ready"
"i'll attack right flank"
"i'll attack up the middle"
etc

@kuzie

it's just more paywall, same with boss shields.  Schnieder was already a glass cannon.  kill his drone and he's got nothing.  could have given the drone fuel/batteries like the mech too.  70 is dumb.  put him in second string bench with lycus and Iune.

Ok, I'll bite why iune is bad for invasion or bad pick im general? With last wish she one of strongest raiders around. Also a perfect counter to Alicia btw. Pop go the head.

@sonofz
Hornet, granny, last wish, ingrid, jav, ionizer, ignis, hatchet, jk5 there probably more, but that just from top of my head. Some will be harder if she using sassy.

I won't bite.  It's a subjective experience I am relaying and not worthy of debate.  I can't play my favorite raider because I am much better in PvP with other raiders, and I don't want to be dead most of the match.  If it's happening to me, it's happening to other people as well.

Spacelords can be very fun and strategy/skill is a factor, but there's a reason some games have big international tournaments with big cash prizes and spacelords doesn't have any tournaments for any money.  Stop pretending it's balanced, unbroken, and non-random.  "Git Gud" is not a substantive argument in this particular situation.  Get over it.

Yes, and that's why the matchmaking system is dumb.  If there are hard counters in the game you should be able to switch characters between spawns.
it will drastically change the game, since antag and raiders will pass their time changing their character during respawn to counter each others. XD

but... maybe it would be a good solution...

maybe, but lots of people just play who they want to play, they don't flex

I think someone being skilled playing lots of different characters and understanding counters should help them win.  Right now, it doesn't help the raiders at all.

i'm rendered to a point where i'm taking shae in missions where she is utterly not recommended, just to prevent an alicia intrusion...

Yes, and that's why the matchmaking system is dumb.  If there are hard counters in the game you should be able to switch characters between spawns.  I realize that is a buff to raider, but nerf them in another way.  Reduce the life pool, reduce the alephs around, whatever, get creative.  But this random matchmaking system is just horrible.  I'll repeat this for the 4th time, but my favorite character was Iune but I would never play her because I never knew if I was going to get a tier 1 invasion, a tier 6 invasion, or no invasion at all.  I don't understand why everything has to be so random.

Suggestions / Re: chosen roles
 on: August 14, 2019, 06:10:37 PM
I think I know what you mean.  Something to help the players understand team compositions and roles.

Like, it's super annoying when I pick kuzmann to guard the monolith, and then have a loaht hanging around with me when he should be getting aleph.  I'm slow and have stress, and he is fast and has no stress to manage; it's obvious he should go get the aleph but a lot of people don't understand.  I never played paragon so I don't know exactly what you mean, but a more structured role system in spacelords might not be a bad thing.
