Gameplay Feedback / Re: revert affinity from cards
 on: May 15, 2019, 04:55:36 AM
Wow, I hadn't noticed they went back on that... At first I actually preferred the idea of having some cards locked behind the Antagonist aff but then I realised that I hate playing pvp and since you can't choose which ones you unlock once you get the Antag affinity, you're still gambling with your faction points, there are cards I will never, ever pull from the deck now.

So +1 for reverting to "All cards" drawn again.
(Also, if this can be reverted before the next roadmap update, why can't Aleph drops?)

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Clueless Newcomers

Oh, the new guys dying repeatedly and rage quitting because they can't grapple Kuzmann… It breaks my heart and yet I'm laughing the whole time. There does need to be an tutorial for more casual gamers who aren't used to it and don't know what to expect.

Bit of an anecdote for you, playing The Mouse and The Snake a couple of nights back with my son, some t3 Dion and a totally new Alicia... I spent the first few minutes watching this guy pressing all the buttons seeing what does what, grappling at the air, shooting the bridge levers, jumping repeatedly at a wall until they realised how to do her wall jump (where they straight away jumped over the edge and died). I added the person on PSN and did a few missions on mic with them until they knew the ropes. They're now playing the division instead because it wasn't for them sadly.

Seriously though, this just highlights the need for a hand holding, Cortez voiceovered, tutorial mission... Heck, Cortez could run you through the tutorial with Huey, Duey and Lewie helping as team mates or as comical side action.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Complaints

Aleph and ammo being drop hasnt been an issue for me tbh. If anything its helped spread aleph out evenly to all teammates so everyone is getting there aleph boosts going therefore increasing team performance.
They both drop like 0.5 seconds after a kill so its not like it takes forever like others have claimed. It doesnt slow the game down at all (at least for me).
Antagonist? Well I played about 20 matches today and only encountered 2. We lost to 1 because of the 1 stage where you have to keep the ball in the alter. We just got overwhelmed at the last altar (On top of Raks flame turret thing).
As far as the end of the month rewards, I really like the idea. Gives the incentive to play both sides to maximize rewards. Has it increased Antag activity? Sure. Is that a bad thing? No. Could they try to rework the balance in the game. Definitely.
Idk. I guess this update just isnt for most people. Or maybe I see this differently than others

On several counts there, you must be one of the luckiest Raiders. The amount of times I've done and watched others do a spin over a corpse looking for and waiting on the drop is just crazy. It absolutely breaks up the flow of combat. You finish an elite, chain into another leaving your aleph there (because there's literally NO time to pick it up) and another elite comes in, picks it up and then uses it to go immune or call down an airstrike on you before you've even finished the combo of strikes... The new players killing and running off leaving the aleph behind and of course because voice chat is off by default and there's no chat ability, you can't actually "mentor" new players at all. The simplest and most popular solution to this seems to be the overflow method. Full aleph/ammo, it drops instead.

Just this evening, I've played 12 matches had antagonists in 7 of them, possibly 8? So definitely lucky there. I even had a purple T2 antag come in on Upside Down with my (T2 - lvl 88) and three new T6s... How is that even a thing? Thankfully the antag didn't actually give a crap and was clearly there to lower their MMR, just standing in the middle dancing for the entire thing.

The monthly rewards is a good thing, I don't see an issue with it and encouraging people to mix it up is good... but I totally understand the frustrations of others that are essentially being forced to pvp when they don't want to or be punished. Impossible to get the status coins in the monthly rewards unless you do pvp, so better pump those levels instead and forget all about the monthly prizes.

I'll admit, I've been playing for a second compared to others, I'm still new to this game but when I first started playing, I genuinely thought it was the best 3rd person shooter I've played in a looooong time and it was my favourite game; I couldn't believe no one I talked to about it had heard of it (I quickly fixed that). Now however, since the update, without the "legacy player" experience to compare it to, only a few months of the old game, this new update seems to have hindered the game for me. There's pros and cons but unfortunately the cons for me are game breaking at times. I still *try* and play every night for a few hours but I end up spending more time on the menu whilst browsing my phone instead now, struggling to find the motivation to click quick play.

+1 to this. That filter is absolutely ridiculous.

Suggestions / Re: reduce the money won
 on: May 14, 2019, 03:50:51 AM
Hi,
In my opinion (as a very regular player), I get too much money. At lvl 200 I had every blueprint for every gun and also every raider. Now at the end of may I'll probably have enough money for every gun I could possibly want and probably for some other as well.

With forge 20 weapons, it's pretty easy getting to 280 fame points and you just get a stupid high amount of money.

My suggestions includes all that bickering about antags: For the monthly points, only count antag matches. It would reward them way more. The way it is now (and always was), an antag lowers your score by way too much, so that they feel like they are costing you money.

I'd like the feeling when I see that I get an antag: "well, one of us is making lots of profit". So in general I'd like non-antag matches to make less money, and antag-matches to make more (for example through that monthly reward).

The problem is that now that I have a score of around 300, I no longer feel motivated to play, since it's unlikely to get a higher score. I mainly wait for friends to come online and to play with them.

Or, alternatively... you could... NOT? Reduce gold rewards and that`s the game dead. What you actually want is more content to make your time worthwhile, not less rewards.

I was looking forward to finding out at the end of the month how this was going to work. I've "accrued" 6 common, 4 rare, 12 xp boosts nd 135k so far but sadly, with the way the game is between insane grinding requirements, the awful new mechanics in the new update regarding aleph and such, I just don't see myself playing this by the end of May. In fact, given the length of time it takes for matchmaking only to say "One of the players failed to respond" or whatever it is, it's possible I'll have uninstalled it by the end of May at this rate.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Ya finally gone and done it...
 on: May 14, 2019, 03:22:00 AM
I've only been playing for weeks, months at most, and already I'm at the point of uninstalling to be honest. I absolutely fell in love with the game, the characters and the story (I was even considering writing my own D&D one-shot set on the broken planet). I've convinced a load of friends and family to play, my son and I use it to bond by playing together (we make a great team but I'm always the featured player ;) ) - After the update, most of my friends stopped playing because of the new aleph drop system and the emphasis on spending money, others stopped at around level 60-70 when they realised how grindy the game became at higher levels to unlock new characters and they have better things to do. This update moved forward with a few things but went back more than it progressed.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Reward Screens & Grind levels
 on: May 14, 2019, 03:14:11 AM
one time rewards set your missions for "medium" rewards after repeated completion so having less one time  gives you more missions to farm "very high" a difference of 500 gold or so...
...while i cannot get 2 out of 3 8h rotations due to life

That's kind of my point. 500 gold on top of say an average of 2.5k, when you're farming trying to get 180k+ Rare weapon cost... That's still a ridiculously long time. Too long. And I don't even have time to get all of them at 12h rotations with a real life. I'm not playing a game for 8+ hours at a time, every day, just to spend two-three weeks trying to earn enough to unlock a new character + weapon given that the rate is affected by how quick the matchmaking is (SLOOOOOOW), how good the team mates are (50/50) and whether or not you've been dumped in with a 200+ Antagonist when your party's levels combined don't even break 100. That's Battlefront 2 Vader unlock levels of unreal.

There might be more one-time rewards at lower tiers but I was definitely earning more gold in one gaming session back then than I am now... How is that even logical? It isn't balanced at all.

Gameplay Feedback / Reward Screens & Grind levels
 on: May 13, 2019, 05:38:00 AM
I can't be the only one getting frustrated at having to sit through the "Featured player", "Scores and rewards", loading screens for a cut scene you'll skip and then the "XP Screen" as each value clocks up?

Can we not just press X/A/Enter and skip the whole tallying up and jump straight to the totals and then the main menu again so we can begin a new mission? I mean the whole game once you hit around level 75 becomes nothing but grind, grind, grind for gold to unlock new characters or build new guns and then there's the ridiculous waiting times for Matchmaking... why force us to endure MORE time wasting that ISN'T playing or enjoying the game? Pleases let us skip the stats and rewards!

Also, is it just me or are there less one-time rewards from tier 2? I recently tiered up to T2 and I'm getting maybe 2 One-time golds, 1 one-time faction and 1 (usually blue) blueprints. I'm grinding to unlock new characters costing 144k-180k and barely making 10k a day with these wait times and rewards. I was absolutely hooked on this game, getting all my friends into it too, up until 48 hours ago when it became clear that this isn't an enjoyable grind anymore. 180k per character, 70k+ for a Forge 9/10 weapon and struggling to make 10k a day with the current reward system? Almost three weeks to unlock a new character? The game has been open the whole time I've been on the forums "matchmaking" too, this is how long it's taking to find a match.

Hmm... Yeah... the more I type, the more it feels like I'm done with the game. Got burnt with the starter pack with missing items, bought Points to build The Whip which was then nerfed to the point where it is utterly useless meaning I wasted real money on a weapon I'll never use again, forced to sit through screens I don't want to see just to see totals and an unbalanced grind system...

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Points for ‘Survival’
 on: May 13, 2019, 05:21:01 AM
Yeah, either way it doesn't really make much sense. Kind of like you're being penalised for doing well?

That's exactly what it is. When I finally realised what was going on with the survival score I got so frustrated that I was losing points for not reaching that stage. Hell, a coordinated team could exploit it by wasting all their lives a few times over at the start of a match then rush it. Max out the survival and boost your score at a minor cost to time.

Survival doesn't work as a score. Just remove it completely. If you get 100% for never getting a survival phase then you're penalised for surviving the longer phases (especially with annoying team mates that refuse to learn and continue to grapple immune elites) - Points for surviving means your penalised for not losing lives. Lose-lose. remove it and be done.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Unnerf the Whip.
 on: May 13, 2019, 05:08:22 AM
+1 to this. The Whip has been killed. It's just not worth having anymore. Three days before the update I actually purchased mercury points to be able to afford to build the whip straight away after unlocking V (I also decided that I've put enough hours into the game now that I should show more support, I've since spent over £50). Feeling cheated now and refusing to buy any more mercury points or packs as a result (and missing items from the PS Starter pack didn't help matters either).

Hi guys. Hopefully this is the right place.
I bought the ps4 starter pack the other day, the blueprints for Dion and Alicia were already unlocked for me anyway but it hasn't given me the O.Shtorm BV (think that's the one... For Konstantin).
I also got the Mercury coins but I don't *think* I got the gold... I can't be sure but I'm almost certain I didn't.

Honestly, I'm not too fussed about a common blueprint for Konstantin as I don't use him and 25k is a few hours of play so neither is really a big deal... Only that these came with something I purchased so I feel a little cheated by not receiving them.

What should be the next step here?
Many thanks and keep up the good work!
