Gameplay Feedback / Re: the new update...
 on: August 24, 2019, 10:12:36 AM
Hi everyone,

Regarding Schneider's dron, the reason for the change was inspired on the Glass Cannon: the dron makes more damage but Schneider is slightly more fragile in order to balance things.

What the f-... Aliens are the Glass Cannon in this game, they have the headshot. They have gimmicks to master so they can be really effective. Scheneider only was good at bosses and cleaning areas, and he wasn't the best (Kuzzman or Valeria are much better at this).

This is just a random change that doesn't answer any call. Is not for the players, is just you "balancing" something that was ok, because Scheneider has been like that 1 year at least and no one said anything about the hacker being a bucket of HP.

The Glass Cannon is just a lame excuse. Aliens are Glass Cannons that have their life at 60 but they can refill it with their gimmick. The hacker loses half of his life and you promote with him a slow and boring mechanic (because right now 70 HP is just a f***ing joke and you will be always in the floor) in a very fast game.

And don't make me start about how this thing is supposed to be lore friendly. Aneska summons her mecha and doesn't lose life. Hades is about those 140 points because they don't have another thing going for them (no regeneration, no bullet proof, no aleph control).

Every raider in this game has a bloody skill that doesn't make him pay life (being the exception Loath, bus yeah, his skill needs that because reasons). In Scheneider this is more important because IS THE ONLY WAY HE CAN DO GUN DAMAGE. YOU ALREADY GAVE HIM A CONS WITH THAT DECISION AND EVERYONE AGREED. And if someone destroys the drone you are at disadvantage a good chunk of time. Make the dron weaker if you want to nerf Scheneider, but stop making him static.

If you want to balance mechanics further use the card system, ffs, you put it in the game for something.

Suggestions / Re: full antag system + AI mode

Well, at least the PvPvE discussion would be solved. But MSE would lose the unwary coop-games-players.

I'm not saying this would be a bad solution, it surely is another kind of solution, but I doubt MSE has balls to do it.

Spacelords’ Advice / Re: Tips for A Breath of Hope as an Antag?
 on: August 14, 2019, 03:00:25 PM
Kuzzman + Lightbolgen worked to get the 10, but wasn't easy; play as normal antag (some CQC, some shootwork), use your trap on the pillars whenever you can and shoot-cover to infect all of them if they activate the pillars. You should always stay on the upper platform so you can have some advantage, and be agressive, but don't overextend yourself.

Sphere part: You have to be very agressive with your arcs and always infect two raiders at least, so you make them stay away and be less conscious about the spheres and more about you. Your trap here can be used in the corner with the snipers, but you shouldn't rely too much on it.

With this a a bit of luck you can overkill the sudden death, or the first phase without Aleph.

Cards were... Don't remember the name. The one that gives you healthpoints as a passive and the one that recharges your trap 300% faster while in cover.

Suggestions / Re: Reasons for Optional PvP
 on: August 14, 2019, 09:41:46 AM
Problem is, September is coming, new games: Borderlands 3, Gears 5, some indies... In october the new COD, december, new DOOM... Those games are heavy fighters, they can suck players like a vacuum. The newbies interest is gonna disappear because "big franchises games."

How can Spacelords retain players? With weapon skins? A Broken combat system? High ping martches? Antagonist system? The random Card system?

Being honest, with a lot of Coop game experiences so close, Spacelords is going to bleed the pve lovers, because MSE hasn't show any kindness towards them...

Just look ay Gears 5, a complete dungeon crawler coop mode that looks outstanding.

I really don't think optional PvP is going to save Spacelords. Too late. Too much pride.

If only they listen.

If only.

But same story same ending.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Feedback after 1-2 months off

Having some more criticism would help the game, I mean, we need to adress the CQC problem, or becoming a more normal shooter problem. If the player base is so low that they can't manage to separate PvP and PvE maybe is because there are a lot of things that don't work. This game has flaws, inconsistencies and bugs. And we have 2 years of this already, 2 years. That's a lot of time with things staying the same, and I mean the problems, not the gameplay.

Would they choose better for the playerbase and the game, and everyone, myself include, will be cheering and coming back to Spacelords.

First step should be fixing the latency issues and solving the CQC system problems.

Unlike what MSE thinks, I think in the long term having dedicated PvE would actually decrease Antag queue wait times, because the community would begin to blossom.

Pretty much true, but the game has got a bad reputation already. i tried to get some friends here some time ago, and the response was "frick that 4vs1 bullshit man, I don't want to play that thing again with the antagonist mechanic."

Games are made with the idea of "entertain" the players. Maybe this game doesn't want to make a full cooperative experience, but... competitive? At a random pace? You want PVP players or PVE? These kind of decisions (because PVP is hurting PVE and vice versa)  are cutting new players, everyday. It isn't getting any attention on Twitch neither (50  viewers at best is just sad).

Maybe a new game mode, separate PVE from PVP would help. Something funny happened at the start of july; Fortnite (yes, that game) went nuts when the developers quit the team mode with unlimited lives. Players spoke, they wanted the mode back. Epic didn't wait too long to make the mode permanent. Now everyone is happy and people is even getting on battle royale because they feel confident enough to try it.

Funny story, MSE, about being stubborn. Even Epic listens to their playerbase better than you.

...

On topic, yeah, Shakura is a player killer. The only way to endure it I found is with a good Harec or a good Doldren pressing against Valeria. Maybe a Loath can suck a chunk of pain and transform. Dunno. The weapon is just very good on tiny spaces. Make it so it needs 30 bullets to change direction, or shooting the orb to change it, maybe that would balance the things a little.

Manipulating MMR is so damn easy that MSE should be ashamed of themselves. On top of that, their matchmaking is a joke in every aspect; going veteran tier 1 against 4 newbies is just bad design, I don't care about their excuses anymore. Antags having long qeues? Separate the goddamn mode and add a player counter, to know if you can or can't instaplay. MMR being some stupid algorithm to measure the players skill? Nope, it's just a failure that decides if one or another team wins because god tier IA or wooden IA. MSE taking into account the players ideas? Try again, since 2017 they have gave us the deaf ear.

I paid when this game was Raiders of the Broken Planet, I LOVED THAT GAME, it had better mechanics and playstyle. Hades was when Raiders went from good to SUPERIOR. Since Spacelords relaunch everything lacks heart, effort (for fuck sake, Lycus voice in the las campaign is not the same as in the other 3) and communication between players and designers.

If I knew this thing would become a chimera of a game I wouldn't had backed MSE. I feel cheated everytime I look at my steam library.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: the new update...

This is another example of the devs not testing the update before launching it. So many problems that you, the players, have to endure.

Sorry to hear this. The game was fun some time ago for a lot of us. Right now is just failure after failure.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: New "natural aleph deposit" system.
 on: August 02, 2019, 09:31:13 PM
Well, the overall experience has decreased a little. Stealing aleph of super soldiers/elite was on point, gave the game a fast pace. This situation creates a new role in the meta: The Aleph Runner, a character focused on getting Aleph and deploying it to the team (Ginebra and Alicia are tops here). Problem is, this slows the gameplay and is less about the CQC and more about cleaning the mobs with a big bad gun (in fact, before you had to choose between killing with guns or fists).

It makes the game less unique. These steps are throwing more dirt in this unpolished gem.

And to think that the game formula of random PvP was the thing that I didn't really like, and now is more about these strange and unappealing mechanics. Damn. Just damn.

Spacelords Universe / Re: Short fuse instant mission fail glitch

Since day 1 guys, from 2017, this bug has been there. Just wait until the timer appears... And try to warn new players un someway. Dunno how.

Suggestions / Re: How about a death cap?
 on: July 30, 2019, 04:36:21 PM
I would apply some 'penalty' to the antag if he dies too much, because right now he can Rambo all the time without consequences. Instead of 15 secs, after dying 10 times, increase by 10 the respawn time with a limit of 1 min (like in a moba), so the odds are more even.

With the new puppet master the antag can still control the grunts and try to stop the raiders, so even dead the antagonist still gets to play.

As a 72-78% MMR player in my days, yeah. The challenge is unfair, stressful and is not rewarding enough. I learnt to manipulate the MMR in my favor. The hard way.

So, if you are a loot player you want to be in the 0-20% MMR. It's another way to play this game. The boring part is to low your MMR once a while to just enjoy it. Some kind of difficulty selection would have been appreciated, but meh.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: ennemy within.

Dunno man. MSE usually makes ninja patches without telling anything. Maybe they changed the Uras dogs system. Only developers know.

I'm curious about this one when the Aleph thing gets online. We will need to wait for Aleph to spawn or still fight the copies for 1 of Aleph?

In topic: Uras dogs are always faster because they want you yo jump all over the place. Problem is when they reproduce themselves like a plague.
