LOL!

To be honest, sonofoz is the yin to your yang Marcus. There needs to be a balance here :P

And sure, while being called a coward isn't very nice on a forum...in the context of the game, he's not all that wrong...Don't be so sensitive mate and really, I've heard more harsher words thrown towards MSE (insults not criticism) around here than anything sonofoz has ever said, so yeah. This forum has reeked as of late, him being "kept in check" won't change anything.

You say that but people still play the infected mode in Left4Dead 2, even though the game is basically rigged for the infected. Same with fighting games, people don't like to lose but they still go to versus mode to try playing against real people when they get tired of fighting the AI.

The trick is to give people the time to get used to the coop and let them experiment with the mechanics and stages, then let them play the PvP when they're bored of running through the PvE mode with easy.

Indeed...I've always thought they should've restricted being invaded from antags until tier 5 (lv 20), since they lock out being able to antag till lv 10. It's one biggest things they should of changed early on, but welp...it's pointless now...

I'm all for games showing no mercy, throwing players into the wolves and having them learn & fend for themselves, but doing it that way has it's obvious drawbacks.

Necromancy from salt...splendid!

I played the game yesterday for the first time since the new update. About 5 games and had no such problems. Just a small sample size from my end though. Considering how wonky the game can be (especially after a fresh new patch), I'm not surprised, rough...

Sheesh...I thought you were going to go away...permanently?  :o

Ah well, your masochistic nature with this game is amusing, so please keep posting lol. It's the main reason I frequent these boards these days, along with the sodium from folks who've deleted this game but are still here anyways. I think I need more fries...

I just stop playing long ago.

Just watching patches and updates come and go, full of trash, nothing to make me return to the game, nothing that fix the same old problems... just adding more and more problems.

They just give some candy to players to keep them interested for some weeks until other patch comes and ruin something.

Despite the dumb changes, the game is still fun as hell for me. I just feel super bummed for the newbies and folks at mid game. So absurd the update is called "prizes galore", but folks get anything but...
Good going MSE...a few months down the line, it's only just gonna be me and Angeles playing this game lol if you don't get your s*** together. Love yall and still pumped for Sooma, but the latest update shows once again that yall REALLY lack perspective...

Personally, it depends on the stage. I almost always get newbies at "In Shock" & "A Breathe of Hope" (two stages I frequent quite a bit). But the 3rd & 4th stages of each campaign has a bit more varying of ranks from my experience.

I for one don't mind the new prizes galore reward system...well, atleast on paper. It just needs some (obvious) tweaking. Faction points being universal though? Good! EXP having a cap? Bad!...extremely stupid and pointless decision, but I'm sure MSE will correct that since they don't use game testers and we become the guinea pigs in these horrid experiments... ::)

Just a shame we have to wait weeks (or a month) for patches/fixes. Ah well, I don't play this game everyday, so no skin off my back. Excited for Sooma though, thanks MSE! Good luck with the rest of the lot on these forums tho. :-X

Same here, doesn't affect me either, since I only play 1 or 2 hours...but locking EXP was a stupid change. But dumb changes are par for the course with this game with every update. On paper I think it's great idea though, but like with most things with this game, it just needs some tweaking...Making faction points universal was a welcome change though!

Ultimately, MSE will correct things, shame we'll have to wait weeks, But I'm used to this s*** by now with every update lol. Enjoy the salt mines here in the meanwhile, cause I know I am.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Leaving Penalties
 on: June 30, 2019, 04:47:20 AM
I'm curious as to what actually constitutes as a Leaving Penalty.

One night I tried queuing for a match and nobody, not even the CPU controlled AI, connected. It was completely messed up. The Character Select Screen showed nobody and I couldn't even choose a character. By the time I got "into the match" I was staring at the battlefield with nothing on it and it said "Disconnected."

I did what any sane person would do... instead of watching paint dry, I left. Well for doing so, I got a Deserter Penalty.

I got this bug recently...even though you can't doing anything and just staring at the stage as you said, the mission is still happening (atleast for the rest of your party).

You can close and restart the game to enter back in the mission as per usual if it happens again. Unfortunately, you got the penalty, cause by then, the party finished the mission.

And ill repeat it again here, if you want a challenge, high mmr matches is where you’ll get it.

Meh, when it comes down to it, you're still boringly auto-piloting against the AI. They're is just amped up to BS levels of cheese. Facing antags isn't challenging I agree, since raiders should win 80% of the time, but the cheese fest in higher end MMR matches aren't challenging either. They're amusing for sure though...

Suggestions / Re: Merchandise?

Kind of along the same lines...can we have Spacelords PSN avatars (and maybe wallpapers/themes too) down the line?
I wanna rep my BAE Alicia!  :D

I have suggested before that they should add a bonus option to select an Antag invasion. Add that to the mission Select screen as an option. If you select that box, you get a 2x reward bonus. Don't want an Antag? Cut the rewards. Add additional bonuses after 5,10,15 Antag queues in a row.

Indeed, have in the past threw out a similar idea as well.. MSE can keep it's core game (chance of antag invasion) and still make it optional. Just cut the gold reward in half and have faction points and rare BPs unattainable if you have it on.

Being killed by some unbalanced broken build is a lot more repulsive than the AI imo.
How? OP "unbalanced broken build " or not, raiders should still win majority of the time. Stupid/beefed up AI just becomes a complete s***show.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Vote to Kick Feature
 on: June 24, 2019, 10:47:27 PM
Although things like that rarely happen (from my personal experience), I'm with you man. Whether it's someone suiciding to lower MMR (do people still that in public games?), doing nothing/leeching off players, or dropping in and out of games, cause the team is having trouble, or there's an antag. Doesn't happen to me alot, but when it does, it's quite annoying to say the least.

Along with the vote to kick, I think people who drop in and out more than 3 or 4 times should get penalized and have a Cortez bro join in permanently.
