The new Hades Betrayal release has brought a lot of new stuff to the table and we've needed a few days to stabilize everything. The team has been busy hunting down issues and balancing the new features.

Content drops will resume shortly and we also have a new data patch on the stove. I can't say anything else though, I'd probably spoil someone's plans :)

A weapon with Treasure Hunter that increases your blueprint drop chance by 10% does exactly that. If a blueprint has a 10% appearance chance it will now appear 11% of the time.

There is a bug where the tooltip on the rewards screen shows the wrong number. It should display the sum of all players with the Treasure Hunter perk :(

I can't say I really understand the affinity system. Out of everything it confuses me the most. At first glance, it seems like a good versus evil scale we slide one way or the other on depending on if we pick Raider or Antagonist. So, does this mean playing as one is detrimental to the other? Otherwise, do they not interact with each other directly and the game merely looks at what you have 'more' affinity at any given time? Can you clarify exactly how Affinity works since this is a completely new system? I didn't see it properly explained in the video.

Every player has a level and an affinity, the affinity represents how they reached that specific level.

For example, if reaching that level requiered 1000XP, some of that XP was acquired playing as a Raider and some playing as an Antagonist. If 20% or more of that XP was acquired playing as the Antagonist, you will have Antagonist affinity. Otherwise, it'll be Raider affinity.

Question: Will there be any change to how drawing and locking cards works? In the video it looks like there's a few cards that are lit up compared to the rest, and I see some can only be drawn with raider affinity and others as antagonist, which I suppose will help narrow the pool of what can be drawn down to better obtain what we want. Is that the only changes?

With the addition of more cards into the game, it lessens my hope of getting a specific rare card that already exists, because my chances get statistically lower with each additional card added to the game.
I have spent thousands of points trying to get Hovercraft for Hans, or Emergence for Konstantin, but on Kon's card screen I see Emergence is his highest level card :(

Drawing, shuffling and locking work just like they do now, however, there's a new tool to manipulate luck: Antagonist and Raider affinity.

All cards in the deck are marked with either Raider or Antagonist affinity. Whenever you draw card (whether its from drawing or shuffling), you'll get one (at random) from your current affinity. This doubles your chances of drawing your favourite card if you manage your affinity properly.

Cards also come with an XP boost, so maybe you'll want that on your favourite card or maybe any card with a high XP boost will do until you reach some personal goal, that's up to you :)

This new update is about putting forth new features into the game. It is not about removing anything that has previously been attained. I'll try to explain as much as possible here so players who have already invested time can make an informed decision on how to better prepare for the new progression changes:

- You will not lose any of the cards you currently own unless you decide to shuffle them away
- Prices for shuffling and locking have changed. Shuffling is more expensive (roughly double), locking is cheaper (roughly half)
- Rare card probability has increased dramatically
- Attaining the necessary level before you can get the highest level cards for each character will take a while. We're giving veterans XP boosts to speed up that process greatly.

Looks good.  Thus far, it looks like the whole thing is well thought out.

Question though: If you're a Lvl 20 Antagonist and the only Raiders queueing are Lvl 1s (or vice versa), will this make it harder to find a match?  If not, will the Lvl 1 side get greater rewards for facing off against such powerful opponents?

Your level represents how strong you characters are, your own playing skill also affects your ability to fight off better opponents. Both of those aspects are measured by your MMR. Your MMR is shown on the main menu and will affect against whom you are matched.

Answering your question: If somehow there was only one high MMR Antagonist and all queued Raiders were of low MMR, the system would give a time penalty to the Antagonist hoping that better MMR Raiders will show up. If none have shown up in a while, the Antagonist would be matched against lower MMR Raiders.

One of the bigger factors in calculating rewards is the "Antagonist skill bonus"; that is the Antagonist's MMR. Therefore, even though those Raiders will face a harder-than-average match, they will also get better prizes at the end.

Question:

Since character points are no longer a thing, are we going to get more gold and faction points from missions ?

Rewards have been rebalanced around all the changes done to the economy. It's hard to make apples-to-apples comparisons but it's safe to say Faction Point income has increased.

Spacelords Universe / Re: Loaht exploit
 on: January 20, 2018, 01:46:57 AM
There was a bug in the Tough talent that would make Loaht in Beast form survive for too long to its life degeneration. It was an unintended consequence and will be fixed on the patch coming next week.

Check this thread in the gameplay feedback forum: https://www.raidersofthebrokenplanet.com/community/index.php?topic=1142.0

Coming with the next patch (patch notes here: https://www.raidersofthebrokenplanet.com/community/index.php?topic=1146.0), the Tough card from Loaht does not affect the Beast's health degeneration. That was an unintended consequence and it's been fixed. (Aaaand, we forgot to include that in the patch notes :( )

Combining the right cards and getting into the game with a clear strategy in mind is the intended design of the game.

The kind of strategy-counterstrategy discussion we have here is just beautiful! However, we do keep an eye on any combinations that are getting out of hand and fix it as it is the case.

Spacelords Universe / Re: 75€/9000Mp for 1 SKIN!
 on: January 18, 2018, 01:13:04 AM
Some skins cost less than 5€ (4), most skins cost between 5 and 15€ (10) and some skins cost more than 40€ (3). I will try to explain the reasoning for this with an open heart:

They are optional cosmetic items that don't affect gameplay:
  • It does suck to really love a character and see that your favourite skin is out of your reach.
  • However, out of any other item, skins cause the least pain to players who can't afford them.

They are 3D pieces that cost a lot of work hours to produce:
  • If all skins were priced proportionally to the time they take to produce, they would all be around the 10-15$ range.
  • That would leave a lot of players without the chance to own at least one or two skins for cheap.
    • Mercury points gained with invitations, which don't cost real money, would never add up to any skin.
  • In order to have some skins that sell for much less than that average, we need to price some of them above the average.
    • Players who have the possibility to buy these skins subsidize the other skins that sell below production cost.
  • Ginebra and Loaht's skins take twice as much work because they need two different models.
    • It makes sense that these are the skins chosen to be priced higher than the others.

Cross platform connectivity is an extremely beneficial feature that we value a lot. It allows for better matchmaking, predominantly on lower playercount hours and countries.

However, it is both a technical and bureaucratic challenge because platform holders are very protective of the features you can include in the game as well of the network technology to use. Some of these permissions are granted on a case by case basis and are still under discussion, so we can't realistically inform of when these features would be coming.

Cross-platform between Steam and PS4 is already working live, as well as cross-platform between Windows 10 and Xbox. We're working hard to include further cross-platform connectivity.

We're closely monitoring those numbers, we have been tweaking them in the past and we will continue to do so. Also, our capacity to track the consequences of our economy changes is increasing steadily which allows us to tweak the numbers more aggressively as time goes on.

The release of the Wardog Fury campaign including new means of income and ways to spend as well as the changes in player behavior that new content brings demand that we stop and observe for a few more days.

However, average income is better than 2k per mission and time between missions is lower than 30 minutes as well. Play time in order to unlock Iune should definitely be much lower than the 2700 minutes OohSooBig came up with.

We will keep on expanding our searches and make sure we're not just focusing on the average player but on different kinds of players with varying behaviors as well.

Meeting in a forum to exchange and validate ideas with each other is a very solid way to gain knowledge. We share our opinions, we hope other people come to challenge them and, eventually, we all get a better understanding of the topic at hand.

You make good points. You also use aggressive words that make it hard for other people to participate and validate them. That would make each argument gather more force. I don't blame you for having feelings. It clearly transpires that you care about the game. However, a little less aggression will get more people participating and a better debate going on.

That being said, the points you make are fair. We're working on a number of changes that will address the economy, antagonist progression, community divides, gold offer vs. demand balance and much more.

Forum-goers are some of our most informed and knowledgeable users. If we listed these changes here right away, that would only target a subset of informed users. We are working on communicating these changes to an audience as wide as possible, and that is why it will take a little longer until we can release all the specifics.

Bug report & Technical Support / Re: Alien Myths bug
 on: September 23, 2017, 04:49:45 PM
Hello again!

We've made some progress on the issue but there's a couple steps that you could take that would really help out.

Please follow the following instructions to see if your license for the Alien Myths DLC is properly enabled:

"If you already own the game and want to see available add-ons to download, select View game details from My games & apps to view any available add-ons on your console. Here’s how:

  -  While on the Home screen, scroll to the right, and then press the A button on your controller to open My games and apps.
-    Locate the game, and then press the Menu button.
-    Select Manage game and then See in Store."

Thank you for your time! The more of you that can help us with this the better.

You can only replay that first mission in solo mode. You have to click on the upper right-hand button of your screen for that.

All other missions are available both on solo and matchmakign mode.

That is a terrible issue, thank you for contacting us. We are investigating the issue, however, some help would go a long way to speed up the fixing process.

Can we please see a picture of how your Adventure panel looks like? Make sure that all the mission/campaign boxes in the lower left are visible.

We need to know whether the problem is on our end or not. I asume everyone here is trying to play on an Xbox, is that right?

Also; which region are you from?
