Ship's Log / Re: Ginebra Now Available for All Alien Myths Players!

360 000 G? Are you serious??

Unfortunately, it's not going to teach people to git gud, they're just going to call BS and quit the game right after trying it. Matchmaking Rating is a thing for this very reason, but antagonist mode seems to be exempt from this.
The simple fix would be to stop giving antags the map information before they enter a match, because they're spam cancelling until they get Hanging By A Thread at the moment to guarantee victory.

I too prefer having an antagonist, but I'm not talking about us, I'm talking about the health of the game in the long-term if all these brand new players are introduced to the game and just get obliterated within 5 minutes at the first map.

PS4, I don't recall if the offender was a steam or PS4 user though.

Edit: I remembered I'd recorded the game, there was no PC symbol next to their name, so I assume they were also on PS4.

I agree, because it gets extremely annoying when you lose because of something so dumb

Yup, and it also doesn't leave a good impression to all the new players joining the game and trying out the Prologue level.

I really do feel for all these new players. There have been a lot of them, but the level of the antagonists they're dealing with is very high. I feel like a temporary hotfix should be put in place only allowing inexperienced Antagonists to queue for Hanging By A Thread. This would mean fewer Antagonists would appear on that map, sure, but I think that's for the best at the moment. There seems to be a large influx of new players, but they're just getting abused by these antagonists, so I don't see many above rank 0. I've been in a game with 3 level 0's and they just get grapple-spammed and flanked constantly, until they're spawn camped sometimes. I have even been an antagonist in this scenario where I spawn-camped the team as Konstantin with my bubble, they had no chance. It has stopped me from playing antagonist mode on that map though, but most people actively seek the easy wins.

Gameplay Feedback / Griefers on Hanging By A Thread
 on: November 07, 2017, 03:08:23 PM
I've encountered two different players now who continuously jump off the map in Hanging By A Thread and triggering survive mode. After triggering the third survive mode, he just disconnected. This leaves the remaining players at a huge disadvantage, and it led to our inevitable loss. I know you probably have a policy against witch hunts, but the name of the player that spurred me to make this post is "E785-C3N5-LP5M"

There needs to be some form of in game vote-to-kick to prevent this abuse. I've seen this happen twice on Hanging By A Thread, when an antagonist hasn't been assigned to the game. I suspect they're either griefing the team, or trying to end the game quickly because they know the rewards will be lower.

It should be easy to automatically detect and kick (and eventually suspend, if they repeat the behaviour) these players. If they aren't contributing, or die a certain number of times from jumping off the map, they should be flagged. Ideally, in-game reporting would be a quick fix for the problem.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: my thoughts on Ginebra

I was getting one shot by Haroc and Shae a Couple of times, The defensive Stat brings nothing with getting one shotting.

That's the strength of the snipers, but they have huge blindsides and are very vulnerable to compensate for this. They are sooo easily flanked and dealt with if you know what you're doing. This is what makes them "balanced." They also require a charge time to reach this one-shot potential.

As for Hans, well, he was considered the most obnoxious antagonist before Ginebra hit the scene, but she just blows him out of the water to be frank. Hans is definitely the strongest of the launch characters, but he doesn't break the game like Ginebra does. As I've stated numerous times now, her being the fastest, tankiest character, with wall climbing and stealth makes her gross as a raider. She just runs around, or runs and hides whenever the survive countdown starts. And I brought this up primarily as a raider player, it's frustrating playing with these Ginebras on my team.

I dont think she is overpowered. Here is what im thinking about her:

- no Sprint
- Aggro Meter increases in normal Form
- Slow Reload
- 100 HP , She can easiely getting one shotted by Haroc and Shae and Hans is also a Problem.
- She can be defeated in Pantherform with Melee Grab

-None of the fifth council characters can sprint, they're bullet sponges, but she does have a movement speed skill with no CD that trivialises this slow but tanky archetype.
-Her Stress meter works like every other character when she is not in cougar form, this is not a weakness. It also doesn't address the fact that she's completely stealthed in cougar form and can easily sprint away and reach inaccessible areas.
-Her slow reload is completely nullified by her having 5 rounds before requiring a reload, and she can fire in rapid sucession. She doesn't even need her charge or wall push. This also works far too well with her ability to sprint to safety in cougar form to reload.
-Again, 100 HP is standard, only Hades characters like Hans and Lycus have 150 - but the damage reduction is far better than the flat health unless you're meleeing.
-She moves so fast in this form, you can line up a grapple very rarely, most of the time she's out of range before it hits. You'd have to pray for low latency, perfect timing, and for her to continue along her patch into your grapple range. A punch will knock her out of it, after which she can dodge - but this isn't a weakness at all, any character caught by surprise will be at a disadvantage. This isn't even considering the very buggy nature of her transform which allows her to transform and flee mid-combo.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Ginebra Transformation
 on: November 06, 2017, 03:41:50 PM
The 0.5 second inactivity on transformation is her ONE limitation, and you're asking to remove it. She's already above the other characters in most facets of her design, and even this one small weakness is easy to play around. Yet another post just went up about how crappy it is to play as an antagonist with a Ginebra against you, the people asking for the removal of her only limitation need to play a bit more against Ginebras to understand how truly overpowered she really is. She's single-handedly dragging down the game, but hey, it's nice if you main her, right?

She's a rash if you're an antagonist, but even when I find her on my team, 30% of the time I find her hiding off in a corner or inaccessible space not participating in the game. Please make her always visible in cougar mode, and nerf her damn weapon. It's crazy trying to take her down with her ridiculous movement speed, and even Hans can't counter her because his projectiles are hard to hit with under normal circumstances, and she runs circles around him. Heck, I'd even take an instant transformation if you nerfed her crossbow, maxed out her stress in cougar form, and either reduced the speed of the form, or the climbing height.

Edit: I'd just like to add, that Ginebra makes the snipers almost completely irrelevant. She has almost double the hitpoints, passive projectile damage reduction, a crazy gap widener/closer, and her weapon does obscene damage. Harec, in particular, needs a large buff to be competitive in this meta.

Bug report & Technical Support / Grapples not Restoring Ammo
 on: November 05, 2017, 04:56:24 PM
I've had this bug a couple of times on Shae, Harec and Kuzmann.

Sometimes when punching or grappling an enemy (particularly players), I have noticed that I won't receive any ammo. This is particularly frustrating when playing Antagonist as Shae where players are my only form of ammo restoration and getting melee kills to restore ammo is risky. I've had this happen twice consecutively on player kills while being out of ammunition.

57
This seems to be a common problem. Interactable objects will sometimes bug out. I've had it on the transformers in Prologue, the orbs in A Breath of Hope, Shae's electrocution in In Shock, the protector in A Fistful of Sand... basically anything really, lol. It's frustrating when it happens, but it seems to be an engine-wide problem?

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Partial rewards for failure.
 on: November 04, 2017, 03:06:58 PM
I think adding some daily rewards would soften the blow for losses. I made a post suggesting changes with some of these factors in mind. Overall, having a daily reward for antagonists to gain 2 stigmas once a day regardless of a win or loss would really temper the situation. Some character balancing is required across the board though, Lycus and Harec need a large buff, and Ginebra needs a flat nerf. I would also say that Konstantin and Kuzmann are straddling the line with their toolkits, making them a must-pick in some situations.

As far as raider rewards go, it makes sense to offer lower rewards for a loss, but I think the scale of rewards are a bit too drastic. If you can earn anywhere from 500 to 5 000 of a currency, it's a little bit too extreme. The rewards need to be averaged out a little more.

Right now, for max rewards you need to:
-Have an antagonist join your game (completely randomised)
-Win the game with a high score
-Hope for a Blueprint to drop, doubling your rewards (again, completely random)

And to make this randomness even worse, if you don't get an antagonist in your game, not only are you getting lower rewards right off the bat, but if you have high MMR, the game is infinitely harder. Most random players I play with, upon realising there's no antag, and seeing the difficulty, will either immediately call for a surrender on maps 2-4 of Alien Myths, or they just disconnect eventually.

Well put, some good suggestions as well. I hope they consider these changes.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Never ending waves of enemies?
 on: November 03, 2017, 07:04:24 PM
Guys its only like that because you have somebody who has a high level on your squad, the a.I corresponds with the levels of the players, the more experience the squad is the higher the difficulty

I stated as much. I know the difficulty is tied to my personal MMR, nothing I can do about that but lose some matches and drag down the people I play with.
