Gameplay Feedback / Re: Feedback after 67 hours

I personally would remove the ability card that lets him drop the bubble when he goes down. It lets you focus so much more on combat without thinking about dropping the bubble on the right timeframe, he also gets so much breathingroom while that bubble is up to hide and recover.

I would love to teamplay, but there is no way of communication in the game which makes it so much harder to set goals and priorities in the missions - which brings me back to the point of that there is no chat and voicechat mentioned on my original post.

Have you try use his weapon as an additional melee option? Shooting in the middle of a braw? Try next beta and you will see what happen ;-)

Going to try that out next beta then, I did not know about this ability. :)

I tried to play crossplatform for the first three beta weekends, but it was always the same experience.
-Console players always got  prioritized with the hosting function no matter what connection bandwidth others had
-90% of those games were with a ping ranging from 300-999 which made the game unplayable

Gameplay Feedback / Feedback after 67 hours
 on: July 30, 2017, 08:38:38 PM
Hello,

second rundown of feedback after the newest patch:

Menu:
-some parts of the menu and all of the info boxes are in spanish (game is set to english)
-when I opened the game for the first time all of the weapon rarity colors were set right, after my first game though it all got reverted back like it was before the new patch.

Maps:
Hanging by a Thread
-The map feels great. No bugs noticed, the pacing feels fine too.

In Shock
-This map also feels good. I noticed that Kuzmann now sets Shae in danger more often, which is reasonable. No bugs noticed.

A Breath of Hope
-No bugs noticed either. Map feels great and is super fun to play and paced very well.

A Fistful of Sand
-I like the difficulty of this map alot. There is so much stuff going on at the same time. I don't like the randomness aspect of finding the guardian though, it just feels lazy designed.
-On the second part of the map I had a bug once were I couldn't leave the turret on the last point, I had to wait until I died to get control of my character back.
-This map is alot easier with an antagonist because the spawnrates are much less as without an antagonist. Personally my least favorite map though because the first part feels tedious.

Gameplay:

No chat/voice chat
-I still don't get why this game has no chat or voice chat function. This irritates me the most. I observed so many party members not knowing what they have to do. I know there is plenty of info on the screen but still, it is just not enough for most people. I have no way of telling them how to play the map and what the objective is. It is super frustrating. CO-OP and multiplayer games NEED a way of communication. Please fix this before the beta ends.

Raiders:

Harec
-I got all his weapons now and tested them all. I like the stock sniper the most as it just feels the most balanced for every situation.

Alicia
-She feels great and is super fun to play, still. I can't get enough of her. The Novera is a good starting shotgun but in my opinion the Vinc "Eager" is just the best for her. Get in, unload, get out and repeat. Smoking Daisy just feels way too slow for her gameplay style, the spread is too big and the weapon only shines when you got alot of enemies blobbed together which is very rare.

Hans:
-Unlocked every weapon from him too. They seem all fine and can be played equally in my opinion. His ability is good for escapes and fast travel around the map.

Lycus:
-Melee only raider in my opinion. His starting weapon is still crap, you can't do anything with it. The only reasonable weapon that I still have to unlock is the Spinning Coin. My friend got it and he loves it, he said its like playing a completely different hero. You can oneshot antagonists with it if you hit all bullets in close range. But if you don't have it you are pretty much a melee only raider - his shield ability just adds more to that fact.

-Shae
-She is still USELESS, I can't think of anything to make her viable other than that to completely rework her main ability and her weapons. She is squishy so she can't play objectives well and on the back line she is WAY too slow to kill anything. She is just a burden to the entire team. I tried to play her multiple times and I just can't get a connection to her. What is her purpose? I observed alot of players picking her that go AFK after 5 minutes because she is too frustrating and useless. She needs a complete overhaul in my opinion as she is the most disconnected from the entire raider roster.

-Konstantin
-THE BETA GOD.
In my opinion the most overpowered raider in the beta.
PVP:
The #1 Antagonist is abusing it pretty well. Pick the ability card that lets you drop your shield after you are down, pick the Ogon Shtorm BV as weapon and you are good to go to shred through EVERYTHING in seconds. It is doable to beat him if you shoot away the shield and abuse corners like crazy. But if you don't do that you are dead in 2 seconds. His ability to wind-up his guns while running is ridicilous too from an pvp perspective. He can react immeadiatly and shred you into pieces. I personally would remove that ability card because its just lazy, skill needs to be rewarded and not to be "EQUIP AND FORGET".

PVE:
He is great to play objectives, he deals so much damage and has alot of HP. His only downside is that he is slow but that part is not that important as you don't have to move much at all.

Matchmaking:
-Feels alot better after the newest patch. I got games in ~15-45 seconds which is a huge improvement to the older build.

Hosting:
I disabled crossplatform play a long time ago and didn't test it in this beta either because it was a bad experience. But other than that the hosting system improved alot with PC, I like only got one game in 17 hours playtime that was around 100-200.

Request to devs:
-I still want proper patchnotes so I can evaluate more on what changed. It's just try and guess for me at the moment which is hard. :)

Thanks for reading.

Gameplay Feedback / 3rd Beta Weekend Impressions
 on: June 25, 2017, 09:27:26 PM
Hello,

some notes after about 40 hours playtime (3 beta weekends).

-Hosting system is still pretty luck based, which is a huge problem in my opinion. Games with hosts that provide you a ping of 200 - 999 are not fun. There NEEDS to be improvement to the host choosing process or else this game is doomed to fail no matter how fun it is. It is pretty much the same since I am playing the beta and the most annoying part so far.

Now to the heroes:

-Konstantin feels pretty good (maybe a bit too good, he deals alot of damage, probably the most out of the playable roster)
-Alicias main mechanic is her flying ability, but it just does not feel rewarding to use it, except to run away faster. Maybe boost her damage from her shotgun while she is in the air? I feel those ability cards alone don't add enough to that mechanic.
-Harec feels good aswell, his ability is fun to use both offensively and as defense.
-Shae feels a bit weird, her gun needs too much time to lock on in my opinion. Her ability seems a bit weak too for PvE. But for PvP it is almost overpowered because it is very hard to locate her when you get mezmerized.
-Lycus, now THIS guy is freaking useless. His guns do absolutely NOTHING both for PvE and PvP. He is basically just a melee hero which is just a dead weight when you have to play the objective. Buff his pistol damage, and give him more magazine size.
-Hans ability feels good so far for mobility purposes, you get around the map pretty fast and can also escape any threat with ease. He is  unplayable though when you get a host with high ping because of his gun mechanics which is all about predicting.

Loot:

This one feels weird to me. I am trying to farm the Smoking Daisy for Alicia for 3 weekends now, and I only have seen the weapon drop ONCE. I don't know if its a bug or intended, but the droprates are pretty bad.

On mission select the weapon colouring seems to be mismatched. Smoking Daisy is a golden weapon but on the screen it gets shown as a grey common one? I think its the same with the other weapons too on the other mission.

Maps:

Both maps feel great and are a good challenge to play with. The recent change to the beholder being faster now is great.

Sidenote:

I think alot of people would love to see the changes between betas getting posted in some patchnotes, so the testers can see what got changed and evaluate on it.

Thanks for reading and providing such a frequent beta. Keep up the great work! Lets try to make this game as good as possible! :)

Spacelords Universe / Re: Whose your favourite beta char?
 on: June 19, 2017, 10:35:28 PM
Alicia for sure, I enjoy fast-paced characters. You can jump/fly around with her all the time. She is super flexible, goes in fast, deals damage fast and then you get out with walljumps. I played her probably the most out of my roughly 30 hours, and she is still not boring to me which is amazing.

Gameplay Feedback / Hosting is horrible. Why no chat?
 on: June 11, 2017, 12:01:43 AM
Hello.

Playing since the newest beta. I am playing for now more than 10 hours and enjoy it alot but the amount of hosts with very slow internet connections is annoying as hell and a big dealbreaker for me. There are alot of games where I have to play with a ping of 200+. Now I am waiting for my host to retrieve the connection as I am writing this. The best part is that I can't even leave the game because I have to wait until the game is over. I am running a 100k connection with 100mbits download and 40mbits upload, so it can't be me.

I noticed that most of the time those poor connections/pings come from console player hosts. The ratio of bad ping/connection games is about 60%.

The next part is, why is there no chat? Why can't I communicate with my team? Most of the time my team doesn't even know what they have to do in the mission. I have to do the objectives most of the time by my own. I tried that beacon system but it does not help at all, people don't even notice it.

To sum up my beta experience so far:

Negative:
-Really bad hosting/high ping, huge dealbreaker
-Bad connection seems to come from console players
-No chat/communication other than that poor selectionwheel

Positive:
-Game runs smooth
-No framedrops, no crashes so far for me (about 10 hours ingame time)
-Maps are fun and a good challenge, I really like the higher difficulty than most other games out there
-Raiders are fun to play
-Gameplay/controls are fun and run smooth

I will probably add more to this thread after the second day of the beta. But so far those are the most irritating things for me.

2nd day:

Beta is closed now and I got around 15 hours playtime. The game is super fun and runs smooth except when you get a bad host which I explained above. Everything breaks when the ping hits 999, close combat gets slowmo, characters are teleporting around the whole map and both the raiders and the antagonist are unable to play the objective.

There is no way on PC to favour the hosting. It's mostly the console players that host. I got the same player multiple times with bad internet connection and the game always chose him to host the game.
