Spacelords’ Advice / Re: HIVE
 on: June 24, 2019, 10:34:47 PM
i'm not sure i have understood you clearly, so maybe my answer will miss your point, but, if that's what you're asking, shae is good to counter hans and alicia.
Oh...haha, sorry for the mixup, my reply was more towards LuB (and just generally speaking).

But yeah...Shae is indeed a good counter against Alicia as a matter of fact. With Alicia being one of my my mains, I have "Sassy" on her, so her extra mobility makes Shae not that effective. I never considered the fight without the card, so you're right. With Hans, I think on stages like Short-Fused, Shae will give him a bit of a headache sure, but once he closes the gap, it's a wrap (most of the time). Hans can match all characters, which makes sense lore wise...he should of been a starting character instead, and have Harec be the first raider you can unlock/buy honestly.

Going off the rails from the topic I know...but Hans and Alicia (more so the former) are I think some of the best/strongest characters IMO. Super easy to use, simple & very useful character ability, has some GREAT character cards, and isn't hampered by the slow walk speed of the 5th council or low HP of the aliens. Only thing is, Alicia has the worst default weapon in the game  :(

Depending on what stage the antag is (cause certain levels give certain antag characters a good advantage), they have no hard counters IMO, though a Godly Harec can give anyone trouble...

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Leveing the playing field
 on: June 24, 2019, 06:44:09 PM
I really don't remember much of my beginnings of this game (it's been MONTHS...), but I don't remember it being that bad? Or maybe I was having too much fun playing the game. Either way, "leveling the playing field" is virtually impossible in this game, because of all the variables (and there's ALOT). Take away the passives, the raiders should still have the advantage, cause 4 raiders who atleast semi know what they're doing should win 80%-85% of the time generally. And the inverse of that is the MMR against the raiders and that's a whole other story...

Same with the high/max weapon forge levels, atleast to me, it seems like a small difference in play (as with the passives). I'm level 185 (almost at MAX forge!) and still using Alicia, Hans, and Kuzman's default weapon & not upgraded, and it doesn't feel too underwhelming? Well...I guess once I get MAX forge, I'll really know, but it's feels very minuscule. Someone doing a video by video would be interesting to see...

* Lengthen Wounded time a bit but Allow allies to pick each other up after a period of medical attention (uninterrupted).
* Grapples cannot outright kill you unless you are wounded, it will instead bring you from a healthly state to a wounded state.
* Charged jumps (Fifth Council)
* Grunts cannot passively zone in on your location automatically when there is no reason for them to know where you are.
* Add Dedicated Servers

Some hit or miss suggestions you've listed (IMO), but I'm definitely with you on the ones above. Picking up wounded/downed teammates is a must!...atleast with mission with just raiders. With an antag, it'll be another disadvantage for them. And I feel grapples shouldn't kill too, unless you have 50% or below health IMO, but what you've suggested is fine too.

I'd also like to see secondary abilities/weapons for characters! Perhaps that's asking too much, not asking for anything crazy...even something minor like a generic secondary that has different effects for each CHARs or a small passive would be nice. And as I suggested on another topic, personal end mission rewards! I know they recently added enemies killed as one, bu there should be more, i.e assists, aleph collected, aleph overloaded, personal deaths, not being left behind, total damage dealt, extracted level (if the mission has one), etc. With the aleph stat being a thing if they revert it back to how it originally was of course (MSE plz...). Would help newer players a lot. So close games against antags or LONG drawn out missions won't seem like a waste of time. The monthly rewards (one of the best additions MSE have made recently), and the upcoming "prizes galore" helps, but personal end mission rewards would be icing on the cake.

And as Angeles says, keep it up guys and gals! I'm excited and pumped for Sooma in the meantime.

Snip

Good to hear, and I wasn't even trying to be condescending or anything with that health comment BTW.

And it's not about being a "pushover"... Despite them being a small team, I guess it's just my pessimistic nature that I don't see things changing lol. Though at the same time, I'm neutral on antag and still love the game as is (despite the recent aleph/ammo nonsense). The grind and shop prices are the games biggest problems personally...everything else is minor things that can be slightly tweaked. But yeah...good luck on yall's fight. MSE even acknowledging you anti-antags would be a sight to behold. I've only been on these forums (mostly lurking) about 7-8 months, and have never seen the staff address it...

New mode are all nice and good, but you guys DO understand that it will only leave us with worse que time? ppl who que for horde mode, dont wanna play base game, so they will not accept base game que pop. Or this will just leave them all hanging and waiting for god know why.
And that on top of, similar MMR or decent ping that game try to give us.
Basically its nice idea, but we just dont have enough ppl to support more buckets.
Yeah...I forgot about that, good point. Just the last 2 days, I've been trying to antag for the monthly & cards and it took quite awhile to que. Meanwhile, playing as raider is always quite fast surprisingly (atleast for me).

What counter can you think for Hans? He is one of my nemesis
Same. I'm not afraid and have no trouble with any other characters, but Hans antags (especially when playing as Alien faction). Even a newbie who has some idea of how the game works, gives me pause. Only thing I got is always try to have the higher ground against him obviously and attack when he reloads. Knowing the height when fighting him should be a constant, especially when you're in line with him for a grab kill or you're in stealth and he happens to fly by you.

anyway, i said the game should have AI mode.
you said the game should have AI mode...
I'm on board with this, MSE should implement a hoard mode (or anything with just AI). Since MSE insist on Antag, have the AI mode win you faction points and common weapon blueprints (no gold or rare BPs).

I still love the game as is, but a new mode would be welcomed.

“Complaining” is the only thing we can do, this is where you come to leave feedback… and considering the toxic nature of the current antagonist system, it is very much warranted, ppl can lose hours of their time, just to satisfy some random griefer, both because of lost rewards and lost gameplay time enjoyment.
I've had the (dis)pleasure of getting teamed with you randomly. You immediately dropped out when there was an antagonist...talk about toxic (a game the group ended up winning anyways...)

Regardless...MSE have ALWAYS insisted on the antag system and have never contemplated making it optional or revising it drastically on these froums. You and the same 2 or 3 people complaining about it here all the time should just move on, cause yall sound miserable lol. I realize, as you said, this is their forum for game feedback, but you anti-antag folk are literally talking to a brick wall, it's bad for your health mate. I'm not even a pro-antag guy either, but it's here to stay..."deal with it" or play another game.

That being said, "lost gameplay time enjoyment" is completely subjective...but I agree with you on the lost of rewards. If only MSE implemented personal end mission rewards i.e enemies killed, assists, aleph overloads, deaths, level extraction, etc. That would mitigate the more dragged out fights/losses. But as we all know, MSE isn't known for implementing helpful new ideas/mechanics (quite the opposite sadly...) That I'l never argue against.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Some nice things about the developers
 on: June 18, 2019, 12:01:01 AM
we have discussed these topics plenty of times, but we keep working to improve the game in all areas.

We are aware some features are not exactly what you asked for, but they were created with the goal to help veterans and new players coordinate on matches.

We listen to your thoughs, not only here, but on all our social media channels. There are a lot of topics to be addressed, but they need time to be tested and applied.

In the next months there will be new updates arriving to Spacelords, so we hope you guys like what we are preparing here at MSE. We'll do our best to make you guys happy, but we need your patience in order to do so.

Thank you very much for your understanding.
Thanks for reading Karen! (and Ojuel). I completely understand implementing new features & putting them out and for the players themselves to test it out...but I feel some of these weren't thought out too thoroughly and required (ALOT) more internal testing. The recent ammo change is a great example. Why get rid of a mechanic that was unique to the game by melee-ing enemies for ammo and turning it into like every other game?

Regardless, I still think the game is great, despite the abundance of frustrating changes/on going issues. (that can easily be fixed & tweaked...) But I'm a patient man and trust you guys, godspeed.

And my wallet is open and ready to support you guys more!, please lower the prices on the shop please OR do what Warframe does and have a 75% off coupon from time to time.  :-*

Suggestions / Re: More Game Modes
 on: June 17, 2019, 11:25:35 PM
As someone who put hours into Mass Effect 3 multilpayer, I'd definitely be down for a horde mode of sorts with this game. It would give folks that constantly whine about PVP to finally shut to as well. Win win...but I don't see it happening, atleast now. Hopefully down the line...

… but I REALLY question that they even play their own game sometim...no, ALOT of the times with some of the boneheaded decisions and (VERY) late fixes to old problems they've made …

… regardless I still love the game quite a bit, but tweaks REALLY need to be made if they want more players.
I can only agree, but all this has been discussed/adressed hundreds of times since 2017 here in the forums.

It seems like MSE does not want to win new players for Spacelords. Otherwise, new game modes or optional game modes would have come first in the development! And everything else would come afterwards. What good is a radar, cosmetic melee weapons UI changes or whatever when I lose most of the new players in a forced PVP situation (where they permanetly get stomped into the ground by a high level antag)?
There's not even a tutorial anymore and the solo/training mode is locked (!!!) at the beginning of the game!
And no, if I want to play a video game, then I don't want to watch any tutorial videos or read tons of text - I don't want to do that, I want to PLAY the game. Give the player a playable tutorial!!!

Hmm...well I'm 50% with you on that...I mean, I'm definitely all in for new game modes!, but I perfectly fine with how the game is now. But you're talking to someone who put 700+ hours into Mass Effect 3 multiplayer and never got bored...
As for antag, unlike 95% of the fanbase, I'm neutral on it. But since MSE insists on it, why is actual antagging level restricted, but being invaded by one not?! One of those boneheaded decisions MSE mode that has never been addressed. I personally think new players should not be antagged until they reach tier 5 (level 20). That way, some players may actually stick around instead of leaving the game & deleting it after getting ROFLstomped one match...

But yep, the radar, cosmetics, leader commands, emotes...all pretty much pointless. And the text/short tutorial videos are a REALLY bad way to go about it, I agree SMH.

And for as long as I've been lurking these forums, I feel the pricing hasn't been talked about ENOUGH, but whatever. I'm just going to be mad talking about, so I'l stop LOL ... but I'll say, whoever decided the pricing for the shop and finalized it should be fired. Hope he/she steps on gum, yeah...I'm not mad  :-X

I've always given MSE a friendly pass, since they're such a small team and I ADORE the game so much...but I REALLY question that they even play their own game sometim...no, ALOT of the times with some of the boneheaded decisions and (VERY) late fixes to old problems they've made (or no fixes at all...). Biggest for me being, finally fixing Ayana's in game voice, after like what? After 6 or more months? Like how small a team is it for a such an obvious oversight to be missed?!, sheesh...99% of you reading this probably didn't care, but that had always bothered me LMAO. But it does tie in to it's other problems...

As for as communication goes, it always been bad, the whole fan base would agree with that. The recent implements didn't do jack s***. I don't use them and I don't pay attention to them when others use them either. So, pretty much worthless/wasted addition...That being said, it's never bothered me personally. I enjoyed the growing pains early on of learning the levels, characters, and overall game while being hammered by over leveled antags & f***** up MMR. All that experience early on really shaped me and it being not newbie friendly was not a problem for. But if MSE wants more new players (especially casuals) and keep early player retention, things NEED to be changed ASAP and like that previous meme posted, the removal of the tutorial was dumb to put it very lightly...

But overall, the game is nowhere near as bad as some people on here make it out to be. It just needs some literal tweaks. I still enjoy and think the game is a blast to play, although I don't play it nearly as much as I used to. My 2 biggest problems have always been the grind and the in game purchases/microtransactions. But mostly the former, and if fixed, would help early game retention and folks at mid game by ALOT. There's alot MSE can do to alleviate the grind (the monthly rewards help), but they can do more. Give mentors & leader approved gold, up desertions gold/FP, per mission rewards would go a long ways, so losses won't be as discouraging/waste of time (especially for newer players).

When it comes to the microtransactions, I'm not going to harp on it too much, (edit: nevermind...) since it's mostly cosmetics...but the pricing till this day is utterly ridiculous. People can do what they want with their money, but I literally die a little inside every time I see a Ginebra alt while playing. I could buy another game with $40 for goodness sake! I'm honestly surprised they've received such little backlash for that, even back when it was released. Their reasoning was silly as well SMH... ::) This is on the levels of Fallout 76 bad, sheesh. On that front, MSE should be ashamed. The character packs aren't great either for what you pay. Even to the point of being a rip off IMHO. If the game were more known, they would be ripped to shreds for this...

I question if MSE hates money as well. They would make SO MUCH MORE if they lower the prices to something more affordable, they would sell like hot cakes. Since alot of the fanbase just likes this game and keeps playing only because they like the characters so much. Hell, I'm dying to give them my money & support them, if they were $5 or $10 each (even though the latter is pushing it a slight bit). Damn shame really, but it's MSE's loss on that...regardless I still love the game quite a bit, but tweaks REALLY need to be made if they want more players. And yall should advertise your game more! Can't wait for Sooma in the mean time! Hope MSE reads the thread as well, peace to you all.

Can't say I have as of late, but throughout my 100+ hours playtime with this game, I've only had 5 matches like that and 4 of them was the same person  >:(

Should report them if you see the same person doing it on multiple matches.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Sudden Death Mode
 on: May 29, 2019, 07:37:15 AM
I have strong doubts that this will contribute to the improvement of the game.

Please don't do that, this will totally ruin the solo queue, because if you get teamed up with a bunch of newbies (and that happens quite often), who burn up all team-life, someone has very little chance (or no chance at all) of carrying the game!!

Oh boy, I have to say I'm very disappointed what happens in the recent updates - Aleph drops, now this …  :o ???
I mean...would you rather crash and burn in 10 minutes or do a carry job for 35+ minutes? The gold in the end for the latter is nice I suppose, but at what cost???

We'll see how it goes when this update drops, but "sudden death" doesn't seem that bad IMO...But the Aleph system definitely needs to be reverted back, that's for sure...Oh, and getting actual gold as a mentor in mentor matches (or anything other than worthless EXP) would be nice, as well as upping desertions from 300 to 500...  ;)
