Gameplay Feedback / Re: New Game Rewards System and Gameplay

This is what gamers do...they assume. Then when things don’t turn out how they dreamed they would, they turn on the developers.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Still Too Many Antags...

I won’t be able to play the game enough to worry about anything other than trying to have fun. If I get a bp I get a bp.

Oh, and I hated the loot cave ;)

I played a game tonight because I wanted a blueprint. The antagonist beat us, but not by much. It made my blueprint chance 25%. I didn’t get it. You know what I said to myself...that was a fun match, sooo close.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: elite skins
 on: August 27, 2018, 04:29:56 AM
It`s awful!!!
Okay, i`m ready to play with recolor skins but why you didn`t give me a Konstantin`s  elite skin? Yes, I haven`t bought last campaign but where is the reason buy full pack after the purchase of all other campaigns? It's ugly on your part, to distribute not very intricate skins, so also to deprive a quarter of them. Be in solidarity with the gaming community, give all 4 skins, regardless of the purchase of campaigns to veterans. I hope you will do something about that. As a player who spent 600+ hours on this game, I didn't notice a decent return on time and money spent, unfortunately.

I’m guessing that 600 hour comment was sarcasm.

Trust me, 52,000 is cheap. Anyway, the developers are trying to balance accessibility with creating a system that entices people to continue playing. I’m not saying they have found the solution, only that if they have no incentive for people to play, the pvp community could dry up.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Philosophy of PvP verses Progression
 on: August 27, 2018, 04:10:08 AM
Just to be clear, I wasn’t trying to say overwatch is better, I barely play it, my point was that with pvp, progression doesn’t work. I have yet to see a developer solve this riddle and it’s because of gamers. We are whiny little bitches and our own worst enemy at times.

One other thing, when I purchased the campaigns it was because I liked the game and I saw potential. I wanted to support what Mercurysteam were trying to do and encourage them to keep working at it. To go back now and complain that I was robbed, or deserve some sort of compensation for money spent is ridiculous. It was an investment, nothing more. I’m pretty sure the motivation for most people was pretty similar. I’ve seen enough posts over the past year that have said so. If anybody thinks they deserve compensation for a product they purchased and then used, I’m sorry, that’s not how it works. You can’t take the air conditioner back at th end of summer just because the weather changed.

Progression is the main “problem” with the game, but only because it causes all the other problems. You look at agame like overwatch. Could you imagine the hate that game would generate if there was a progression system? All the fun that could be, would be squeezed from that game. The application of items gained through progression is part of what causes so many problems with the destiny pvp. If spacelords was just people playin pvp, with no pve progression aspect, it would be a lot less frustrating when you played against antagonists. It’s a gamer problem, not a developer problem. Just my 2 cents.

Good post. I can tell you this much, hero unlocking used to be what you said. You had to pay for it and it was expensive. Seeing both methods employed over the last year, I prefer the current one.

I honestly don’t have a problem with the coin flip, but I’d like to see at least a gold consolation prize if nothing else. For a game that has the loot/skin carrot, giving nothing is counter productive to the success of the game, especially with the lack of choices in scenarios right now.

I agree, 2-player co-op would be great

I agree, if you get so much stuff to craft, like Warframe,  it becomes overwhelming. With Raiders, there isn’t so much stuff and not too many currencies so it’s much less frustrating to manage and much easier to keep your eye on the prize. The reason I think you need consistent rewards is because a big part of the gameplay variety right now is with the characters and their upgrades. And remember, the solo easy reward is 1500 gold. When you’ve got to get 120,000 gold to unlock some characters, I don’t think a little something every time is really going to hurt the balance of the game and will help keep people’s interest.  It would encourage me to spend money on Mercury too.

I was playing quake 3 arena back in the day, back when you just played for the fun of it. Of course everything was unlocked from the get go so the idea of grinding out trinkets or micro transactions wasn’t even a thought. So as far as I’m concerned if a game is fun, I’ll play it regardless. Right now for me, in Raiders, I’m not entirely thrilled with the mechanics of the 4 original heroes.

Suggestions / Rewards

Ok, I downloaded this game when it first came out. I saw some great potential. There was a lot to like about the game. I spent some money on it because I wanted to support it. But, in the grand scheme of things with my gaming library, it wasn’t getting played for one reason or another, mostly because of ffxiv. A few days ago I decided to check up on the development and see how far it had come. I was quickly reminded of all the things I loved about the game, but also all the aches and pains. Despite that and not really having played the game much, I bought the latest campaign, again because I feel like this game is worth continued development and I want to try and help. I am going to try and stick with it this time, because money will only go so far in helping it’s development. I just recently finished a couple co-op scenarios. The first had no blueprint, so I chose one of the “monetary” rewards. Second scenario had a blueprint. Myself and another player chose it. I thought, great! My first blueprint. Uh yeah, not so fast. There is another random mechanic, the blueprint coin flip between players. Of course he got it. My rewards for my work...zilch. I’m fine with the blueprint coin flip between players...at least so far. My concern is my half hour of gaming got me nothing. I waited 10 minutes for the match, then another 20 of “playtime”. If the Destiny/Warframe debate taught anybody anything it’s that in games where you earn currency or crafting components to make other items, you need to reward players every time. I suggest that there is a minimum gold reward for each scenario. Maybe the solo easy reward. Then in the rewards screen you can choose additional rewards. Whether that’s more gold, character points, faction points or blueprints. This way if you go for the blueprint and lose out, you,’ve still earned some gold to progress to unlocking another item. Plus, really, you shouldn’t be accidentally encouraging players to play solo missions by guaranteeing a reward there and not in multiplayer. I feel like if people continually feel their time spent is not valuable they will leave. Especially with games like Monster Hunter World out there that do a really, really good job of rewarding time spent. The pull to those games will be much stronger than to raiders. Anyway, thanks for what you do.

I agree, just tried antagonist and is rage inducing, broken as all get out. No fun at all.
