Gameplay Feedback / Mastery?
 on: November 30, 2017, 03:41:17 PM
I'm missing something here. What does this do?

Also, how do you earn invitations as a campaign owner? Is it linked to Mastery? Would be nice if there were at least a Quick Guide entry for this. I was hoping to earn an invitation to invite a friend to play tonight, but I have no idea how. Is it completely random?

That's pretty funny. I mean, it sucks for those who were affected - but maybe they're trying to trixx you into playing more antagonist mode. Maybe there's a shortage of antagonists and they're trying to put you to work. This is a joke, please don't take me seriously.

Personally, I don't find it to be too world-ending, it's quite easy to earn enough stigmas to reach a high enough rank to craft. Gold is the bottleneck though, especially with the next load of raider recruits seemingly around the corner. I just wish they would give Antagonists some gold along with stigmas, or maybe a flat gold reward even if they lose the game, if they stay to the end.

Anyway, I sympathise with those affected, but try to remember that this is a small team, and they are (I assume) pushing to release the next chunk of content ASAP. A glitch in the matrix discarding your antagonist rank might seem like a simple thing to roll back, but judging by the problems they've had with the Xbox One version of the game, I don't think it's within their power to do so. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Region & Currency

Thanks for the advice, Necro. This is a very common problem, so I'm sure it will end up helping someone. I, myself have moved from South Africa to the Middle East, so I've had to make use of these PSN gift card resellers as well for the same reason. I refuse to create a new account and lose all of my digital library, trophies, friend list etc. Hopefully Sony will change this policy soon. It's a common complaint, and one they're aware of.

Antagonist rank resets every Monday. Just rank up when you have all the blueprints available and enough gold and spend it all in one week.

Spacelords Universe / Re: Stigma System

The number of Stigmas you earn per antagonist match is determined by your score. If you lose, you don't receive stigmas. If you're above 20 stigmas, you start losing stigmas if you fail.

The number of stigmas you possess determines your antagonist rank. The rank requirements change based on the leaderboards at the time. Winning a game nets you around 1-5 stigmas depending on how well you did. And to reach rank 10 requires about 10 stigmas.

No problem, glad it worked out in the end.

Gameplay Feedback / Re: The Enemy Within Difficulty

Well other missions have suboptimal characters too.
Kuzman is bad on first stage of "Ray of hope", Harek is bad on second stage of "In Shock" etc.

You're completely missing the point of this thread, this level is far and away harder than any of the others. And I have to laugh at the quote, because personally I find Harec and Kuzmann to be incredibly strong in both of those maps. Kuzmann is my go-to pick in A Breath of Hope if someone else wants to play Hans. He devastates adds on all of the maps, and keeps waves under control. Perhaps you should try a different build for those respective characters, since we're giving "How-to-play-the-game" lessons here.

That's what I'm referring to though, the map shouldn't be so tightly tuned that you HAVE to take those characters, and can't take others. 60% on this map doesn't feel like 60% on any of the others.

Gameplay Feedback / The Enemy Within Difficulty
 on: November 16, 2017, 12:41:21 PM
So I've been holding back on commenting about this for a while, because there were some difficulty reduction changes made to this level recently. After playtesting a bit more, I've come to the conclusion that this map is still overtuned (without an antagonist). I have a 4 out of 5 games as a loss on this map, and the one victory was because there was an antagonist in the game to reduce the PvE difficulty. I don't enjoy playing this map, as it usually results in a long-winded loss as we get to about 80-90% completion before getting overrun by Uras-Beherit's mutant babies.

The rest of the map difficulty is much more manageable, as it was almost impossible to even get past the first stage with +54% difficulty without the adds spawning faster than raiders can clear them. I would just like to suggest maybe revisiting this map's difficulty, and reducing the spawn rate of the monsters in the final phase by a touch. If you are recording winrates on maps, you should have a good idea of whether the map is too overtuned at higher difficulties (without an antagonist), so I will defer to your know-how. Right now it feels like you need the perfect combination of raiders, with high skill levels to even have a chance of completing this map in PvE.

It's really encouraging to receive word from the team, even if it's nothing concrete, it's appreciated. Please continue to engage with the community as you have the past few days. Just knowing that we're not haplessly shouting into the void has really improved my attitude toward the team and game in general.

Ship's Log / Re: Reward System Hot-Fix Update

I play a lot, and I haven't spent any of my gold in a month. I also have a buddy who plays with me occassionally who passes on gold rolls to help me earn enough, so that helps.

Ja, we encountered this issue as well. Just create a PSN account in your friend's region, download their version of the client, and you can play it on your account without restrictions (or just have your buddy do it instead). I think it's only separated by EU and US versions, this is what I personally encountered.

Yes, it's a good way to get new players into the game. I think seeing Ginebra's price (in combination with Mikah's) as a brand new player would be off-putting, so anything to soften the blow would be great.

I just hope to hear back on a more tangible solution soon. I've been saving gold, and playing frequently for almost a month now, and I've only just reached 317k.

I know this may be asking a bit much, but is there any loose release timeframe on these reward changes? I've been saving gold for Mikah and Ginebra for about a month, and I've just hit 300k by rolling exclusively on gold rewards and playing more frequently than I'd like to admit - but I don't want to spend this hard-won gold if:
a) The new Raiders are going to cost more than 100k
b) The new Raiders are going to be released within the next few weeks
c) There is no marked improvement in rewards incoming within the next 2 weeks (sorry if this seems like an arbitrary time limit, but I'm burning out on the current system, and I don't think I can go on much longer)

I would much prefer to spend this gold on the new characters, but if they're going to cost less than the recent Raiders, then I don't mind grinding up the Gold again. I'm hoping for a fair 80k on average per hero, depending on whatever your metrics are. Basically, if you can either give us a release window, or confirm that the new raiders won't cost as much as Mikah and Ginebra, then I will happily spend my Gold and earn it back again.

I've been recording my average gold earned since the update, with a fresh start, and currently I'm sitting on 1822.87 Gold earned on average per game across maps. This reflects what I posted above about the flat increase not helping, as that's half of what I was earning before you increased the gold reward by 1/3rd post-Ginebra. I've also recorded whenever there is a split roll on gold, so that will be an interesting statistic to put forward as well.

Spacelords’ Advice / Re: Video Faction Guide for new players
 on: November 15, 2017, 07:46:10 PM
As far as cards go, I have to say pairing Kuzmann's rare weapon with the self-healing on kill faction card, and the increased arc lightning range is really good. It's pretty decent against antagonists as well, and allows for some kiting potential as you hold down R1 while running and have things zap each other while they chase you, healing all the while. He makes an excellent tank and wave clearer, as well as a great supporting antag-killer if you stick voltage on nearby enemies and zap the antagonist while they're trying to take cover. It also makes up for his lack of mobility, as you can tag enemies and run around, instead of being stuck rooted to the spot.

His healing gun is also really good in certain situations, but I find it's better to use it with some level of coordination among the team.

I would like to see more build variety like this with the other raiders in future.
